I'd trade Mc Carreins and a 6th to Atlanta for Duckett. Duckett would be the back we always hoped Jordan would be for us and Mc carreins would replace the injured Brian Finneran for the Falcons.

    Woah, Stephen Davis?

At this point he's near worhtless. He's old, slow, injury plagued and finished.

I really hope the front office waits until next offseason to get a RB...

Eh, Duckett may be an OK fit...

It is pretty clear that the Falcons would be asking way too much for Duckett, just look at what they were asking for Schaub. They turned down a top 20 pick from the Vikes for a guy that has played 6 quarters in 3 years.

    Jonathan Wells...

... Why wouldn't they take a look at Wells... he subbed well for D. Davis last year, is only 27 and is a solid, versatile back that we could fit right into the running back by committee we might have, and won't cost the Jets anything, as he is a free agent...
To me, a team clearly in transition with it's ground game like we are, could have Houston, Wells and Leon all getting some time, and then move Blaylock for a pick to a team that needs a back up. (Sermon Edwards, perhaps).
    Thoughts?

I decided to merge these separate threads bringing up RBs that probably won't be traded. They all fall under the same boat.

I think Warrick Dunn would be available before Duckett - by drfating Norwood, who is a Dunn-like guy the Falcons have locked themselves into carrying Duckett this year. And I think Dunn would prove to be far too expensive.

Chris Perry, Michael Turner, Deshaun Foster, Chris Brown, Maurice Morris, abd Deuce McAllister aren't going anywhere.

LaBrandon Tofield, Alvin Pearman, Artose Pinner, Mwelde Moore, Nick Goings, and Marcel Shipp are likely available. Then you have outside shots at Kevan Barlow, and Travis Henry.

Are any of those guys worth trading for?

Personally I didn't want Suggs based on the fact that he is injury prone. I didn't think the Jets made the move because they felt it was a must to gain an extra back but an oppurtunity to unload a guy they don't want and in the process gain a player that has the ability to be good if he can stay healthy.

That being said if they do feel like they need a RB I really like Adrian Peterson of Chicago but even though he is 3rd on the depth chart I don't think the Bears would move him based on the fact that Thomas Jones is incosistent and Cedric Benson seems to have the BUST label already.

There are other options as well such as waiting to see who is a casualty of losing a job (possibly Michael Pittman) or do as the Giants did a few years ago and scower the practice squads and grab a RB that way ala Derrick Ward.

Of course we could always go with what we have and just grab a RB next year in the draft or FA.

I'm a fan of a combo of B and C grab a vet that gets cut and then draft a top flight RB next year. Of course now you have to deal with Derrick Strait but I'm sure he understands it's a business and it's better than being cut....
