    Considering our depth at the safety position, we should at least take a look.

    FS is the priority at this point, but any SS willing to take a paycut to go to the Jets is welcome in my book. Even if the Jets end up wasting money on safeties later released I'd rather we do everything to set us up to have as much depth as possible going into the season.

    He would probably come cheaper than Smith so you can get him and probably save some cap space after dumping Smith. That means Jimmy Leonhard is a must to bring back since he knows the system. Then you can find a FS to develop.
