We are clearly in a desparate need for a few safeties. Ihedigbo is someone familiar with our system. He's a good player who at the very least would provide solid depth for us. He's not the best in coverage though but can play up as the 8th man in the box. Thoughts?
James has amazing potential , but hes another young player we didn't give a chance to. Signing a young developing player would make too much sense we seem to like the stop gap or stick with what doesn't work method better.
This. His only value is as a pass rusher on 3rd down and on special teams. And please, before people start to glamour about his pass rushing abilities, I think we should start to look for pass rushing from our front seven, not from a third string SS.
If we need depth, maybe, but as many people have noted we need safeties who can cover the Pats* TEs, not guys who will get there a second late every time a pass is completed to them. We already have that in ES.
I believe he was rated one of the worst safties last year when he played for the Pats. I'd take him back in the role he was previously in for us but nothing more.
Didn't know he was available but I liked him. Or Elam, Elam was good. I've been saying all off-season we need to cover tight ends, however we do it, that has to be fixed. Has to be.
Um, we had both for a few years and one became the starting safety, and the other barely got on the field on defense except in certain packages. I think it's pretty clear who the Jets thought was a better option.
