This team needs a real GM before this draft.

The next time someone says that Tannenbaum is a genius with the cap just remember one thing.

Last year when he had 8MM in surplus he had Bart Scott take a 1MM cut to guarantee 6MM for this year or he could have been cut with no hit and now we will release him and take the full hit.

In the real world people get fired for that but with Woody you get a three year extension.

Little lesson for you, it's called "Follow the Money". Players sign where the money is. Why in the hell do you think Mario Williams is in Buffalo? It really has very little to with the coach or the city. Players only say that after they get the money.

Nonsense...explain Lloyd signing for 4 million a year with your "theory". Players sign where they want to play.

How often does that happen ?

He followed his coach, and went to the team that is most likely to get him a ring.

He went to NE for his selfish reasons, just like any FA does.

Only difference was his reason was he went for the easiest ring possible

Why would people want to play for us when we got embarrassed by the Giants in Rex's "becoming NY's team" game last year.

New England is having a fantastic Free Agency with only a little bit more Cap Space than us in $13.6 million vs. $12.7 million.

They made the Super Bowl and knew they needed to improve, while we choked down the stretch, missed the playoffs and are sitting back doing very little to improve our team.

Relax. I hardly call the Pats moves 'fantastic.' Other than Lloyd, which I admit was a very good signing, what other name makes their moves 'fantastic.' Trevor Scott and Steve Gregory are average at best starters. Anthony Gonzalez can't even stay on the field.

Lloyd couldn't get a contract anywhere else. He's a 32 year old receiver who has never had a big contract . No disrespect but they always follow the money and to think otherwise is foolish.

    Few things:

    1) Are these amazing moves like the Pats as amazing as bringing in Ocho Cinco and Hanyesworth? Their best pickup was Lloyd, but not sure how effective him and Brady will be.

    2) Who do you want us to go out and sign? The only one I am frustrated didn't sign with us is Reggie Nelson. He resigned with his current team.

Clear overreaction with the draft still upcoming and 5 months til August.

Dumb thread. One guy signed elsewhere, so that means nobody wants to sign here? Ridiculous. For one thing, two guys already did.

I'm a little upset more by the management not acknowledging our weakness the past years. We've need a passrusher for 3 years now and we've needed Oline for just as long. We went after WRs last year for some odd reason when I think we did fine with what we had. I have no faith in who makes the decisions.

The Pats like to place low risk/high reward bets. Some have failed(ocho and hanyesworth) and others have not(dillon and moss to an extent).

Building through the draft is what I would like best.

When is our GM going to start being held accountable for the lack of depth, pretty mediocre drafts since Mangini is gone, and the general lack of player personnel knowledge he seems to display lately... just curious as to some thoughts on this... This "cap genius" seems to me to be the root of the problem - but when you say that you get flamed.

I could not agree more. He has f'ed up royally the last 2 years. Hunter at RT? No one at S. Ducasse was a bust. Why was Lowery traded?

Mike T should schedule a conference call for tomorrow and list out one by one his mistakes the last 2 years and formally apologize to the fan base.

I disagree... we got to 2 AFC championships since Magnini is gone, and it's not Tanny's job to evaluate talent but Clinkscales & Bradshaw. If anything blame them... I don't thing Tanny is stupid enough to over-rule the opinion of actual football evaluators.

That said I'm still pissed at the Lowery trade and I'd be happy with a GM that is actually an elite football evaluator...

There should be a press conference to formally apologize for the lousy offseason and to admit mistakes at S, Ducasse, Hunter, Kendrick Ellis and not generating enough consistent pass rush.
