Given that this announcement is taking so long, I am convinced he is going somewhere else. He is milking the other team for more money while he has the Jets offer in hand. If he wanted the Jets, he would have signed already. I am thinking he used the Jets as leverage.

He could have also gotten the Jets offer matched or beaten and now he's waiting for the Jets to top their own offer so he can come here. You can't know the mind of a man you've never met in his business dealings.

Nelson would help out D but he's nothing special and is a little up there in age, If he decides not too come here, It's not the end of the world.

he's 28.. if the Jets sign him for 3 years he will still be in his prime the whole time he's here..

If Nelson does turn down the Jets, how about Reggie Smith for FS?
Niners has a good D last year, should be cheaper too!

This signing is more important than people think. One less spot to worry about moving forward.

A 3 yr starter is better than the stopgaps that blew up in our face last year.

Plus id hate to see us reach for this need in the draft when there's too many other holes of greater importance.

It certainly seems like he's trying to use us as leverage to get more money from the Bengals. Hopefully we can get him on board though, we need a safety who can cover in the worst way.

That would be funny if he decides to go play with that debacle of a defense. They land Nelson & Landry and just straight shit in the Jets mouth, I could see it.

Not happening. They're not outbidding us on Nelson+Landry when they've already plunked down for Lloyd not to mention whoever else they want. They can get one of our guys potentially, not two.

I dont think the pats have that much cap space. They just signed Lloyd to a nice deal, paid FS Steve Gregory starter money, and also want to resign Mark Anderson...

Nelson is a good cover safety, but I don't know if I'd call him a cover-first safety. He's better than the other options when it comes to that, but he's better as over the top rangy help. I still want him more than the other options out there though.

Nelson isn't nearly good enough to be pulling shit like that.

Choose your fucking team and move on.

I love how impatient fans get with players. Guy is deciding where he wants to live, where he wants to play, and what he wants to get paid for the next few years of his life. If I'm a player, unless I'm absolutely blown away, I'm looking at all my options.

After living in that shithole cinci for the last year he should be desperate to get the hell outta there.

Opprotunity to live in ny/nj/nyc/long island and he should be flying for the door
