Hey guys excuse me if I posted this in the incorrect section, but I just walked outside of my office and I see Woody Johnson walking down the street with 2 other "suits", I said hello and he kept walking.....as always he was rocking out with his signature NYJs hat.

Anyway, I find it interesting that the Jets are said to be courting a few 2nd tier free agents today in Florham park, I'm assuming Woody wont be there to meet them. Is this normal? I'm pretty sure if it was a high profile FA Woody would definitely at least be in the building, but I am not really positive....does anybody know if Owners are normally involved in signing players? or at least meeting them before the GM makes a decision?

I would think its plenty normal. Woody is the owner. he's doing other things, hes not football only, like Tanny and Rex are.

But you are right, if we had Mario Williams coming in, I would bet that he was there to meet them. Superstars get special treatment, and they get whatever they want while the team tries to beg them to take their zillion dollar checks.

Look at what the Bills are doing with Williams, and they still can't be certain he'll sign on the dotted line.

borderline starters/depth players don't get to meet the owner until they randomly pass him in the hall.

Yeah he didnt even acknowledge me...but yeah I assumed he would take his private helicopter.....Just like a few months back @ the Mike and Mike show from the meadowlands...Woody showed up in his Helicopter and immediately after his interview he was back in the air....he made sure to fly over the stadium just so we could all see how cool he was!

If I was outside and said hello and he walked by I would have tackled him like Smith should have done in the Giants game. The rich prick.

we kill ourselves emotionally, spend countless money on these teams and the owner doesn't even have the courtesy to acknowledge you when you say hello. This is what the world has become, sickening really.

+1. At the very least, he could have acknowledged your existence. Guess he "passed" on that, too. What a doucher.

what a hayseed rube you are - walking around manhattan waving "hi there" to complete fucking strangers on the street. Woody doesn't know you or owe you shit. you think he has time to stop and chit chat with every idiot on the street who says hi to him? Get a grip on yourself and stop acting like a tourist.
