WTF were you expecting? If we get Braylon and Reggie Nelson I consider it a good haul. Most of us knew there was jackshit in FA for us. The draft makes or breaks this offseason.

Ducasse - We all knew it would take time to develop Wilson - Turned into an asset at times in year 2. Ellis - Also a developmental pick. Small school big body. Not every pick can be like Revis and come out strong year one. Oh wait.

The number 5 pick in the draft shouldnt be work in progress.... A 2nd round pick should be a work in progress A 4th round pick can be a work in progress..... Wilson turned it around last year big time....

I was pretty taken aback when I read that our team didn't beat ANY teams with a winning record last year, but then I realized that WE didn't have a winning record for most of last year.
guess I made out that middle season skid to be longer than it really was. Funny how the Oakland game foreshadowed how we lose most of our games for the rest of the season
We hardly played any winning teams. We were 0-2 against NE, lost in Baltimore and lost to the Giants. If we beat the Giants, though, we still wouldn't have won against a winning team cos they'd have had 8 losses.
Not too surprising. The Pats didn't beat a team with winning record until the playoffs. The Jets were too inconsistent to beat the winning teams and they only played 4 teams with a winning record. The whole afc west was not a winning team so that factored into it. The only good win the Jets got was when they stopped the Bills win streak decidedly.
The Pats, Giants, Pitt and NO all has established QB's and offenses... The 49'rs had the New coach bump like we had 2 years ago.... Face it, with the change in WR"s and Mark still being incredibly inexperienced, the Jets needed the camp more than anyone. And yeah, A LOT of things hurt this team.... But, from where I sit, I'm just as optomistci today as I was last year at this time - hoping for 10 wins and a punchers shot.
The offseason is long, can we relax a bit? Let's see where we are in July when camp opens. I am 100% confident we will have a better team next year than we had last year.
one L I see you are completely unfamiliar with Schilens because you do not even know how to spell his name. The Jets can be better in 2012 with renewed focus and cutting out the locker room bullshit. The head coach himself had no idea what was going on last year. If he stops making commercials and movies and better controls his team the Jets will be better based on that alone. The potential Schilens signing is the type of low cost move I want the Jets to make. A few free agent signings like that would be nice. Making good decisions in the 2012 draft is paramount.
What types of moves were you expecting the Jets to make? Free agency isn't the only way to improve your team. We already made a big addition by subtraction move by getting rid of Schotty. I don't know if fist pumps will be good, but I don't think he can be worse than Schotty. Then there's the draft, and you can also make trades. There are a number of other teams who haven't done anything in free agency yet either.
