Untrue. He knows less. He just has more time to read other columnists. And...he babbles like an idiot on the air. He's actively painful to listen to.
Tannenbaum on Thursday: "we love you Mark, but if we can get Peyton, we're cutting your ass..." Tannenbaum on Friday: "remember how Kobe apologized to his wife and bought her that $2 M diamond? Well how about we throw a few more $$$ your way and we pretend this whole Manning thing never happened?"
Or how about a little reverse psychology: "We pretend to have an interest in Manning as a way to put pressure on Sanchez." There was no way the jets were signing Manning. Not only would they tie up cap space, they would be taking on a huge risk with an aging, injury riddled QB - not to mention humiliating their "franchise" QB.
Actually it doesn't. It lets me know WHY he got a job at ESPN. Skip Bayless, Jemele Hill, enough said.
How about the Jets sign a backup that can compete to put pressure on sanchez. Dude has been on cruise control and with this extension, Tanny just filled up the tank of gas with premium. With no viable backup, Sanchez has no fear of being benched. Then again, Tony Morono will probably call Chad Chenne if things get out of hand.
I think people are missing the point with the backup QB. If Sanchez needs a backup to push him then he probably will never be a great QB in this league. Look at the elite QB's in the league. Who was pushing them when they became starters? In most cases no one. I think Sanchez is under enough pressure from the performance last season that he will not need extra motivation to prepare this season. I think more importantly is we need a backup who could actually win a few games if Sanchez was to miss some time.
Fuck that stupid fucker. The only teams that have no "articles" about them being a joke is the teams that actually are a joke.
Stephen A. Smith doesn't understand the business. I know the Jets had to make an unpopular decision, but if the Jets really want to turn things around, there has to be more holes than need to be plugged in. A QB is the lesser of their worries. (Note: I'm not trying to say that I know how the football business works, I'm saying that this media is too much anti-Jets)
Smith should stick to the NBA, can't stand listening to him talk any football. Only joke is himself and they way he talks on ESPN, Skip owns if on any and every NFL topic.
JETSCLAPS is banned and several hours later, you show up. Coincidence? Hmmmm..... OH and Stephen FU Smith(forget the "A" ) needs to shut his piehole and go slobber over Kobe's strudel and leave Football to the experts who know it.
Agreed 100%. Of course anyone who ever says anything bad about Sanchez has to be wrong. God forbid anyone criticize the savior!
