Anyone picking this one up? It comes out tomorrow. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdoms_of_Amalur:_Reckoning Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a single-player action role-playing game for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.[4] Ken Rolston, the lead designer of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, acts as the game's executive designer. Additionally, noted fantasy author R.A. Salvatore created the game universe and lore, with Todd McFarlane, creator of Spawn, working on the artwork, and Grant Kirkhope, long-time composer for Rare Ltd., creating the musical score.[5] It is being developed by 38 Studios and Big Huge Games. The game was released on February 7, 2012 in North America and will be released on February 10, 2012 in Europe. The first public demonstration was at the Penny Arcade Expo East 2011 held in Boston, Massachusetts, United States on March 11, 2011. Kind of interesting as well, Curt Schillings development company is producing it. played the demo, was pretty good fun - sadly for it, it is up against Skyrim in the RPG stakes atm i have also being playing Rage a bit recently, its a pretty good game that for some reason flopped a bit but is now available insanely cheaply, (about $15 brand new on xbox). weird how with some games, the price just plummets - like the brilliant Deus Ex which again I got brand new for about $15.
Game is okay, doesn't really suck you in...fun game but i could put it away and stop playing anytime.
the guy at gamestop tried selling me on it. ill wait and by it used in the future, im going to hold out and wait for mlb 12 the show which comes out in a couple weeks, and resident evil raccoon city
Got the game day 1. Loved it at first. Combat is great and their is a ton of content but the quests get really monotonous. All the missions feel like a bunch of fetch quests and vast majority of characters are dull. I am kind of disappointed. Wouldn't recommend the game to any one except hardcore RPG fans.
So, I played the demo. The graphics are well above average. The story is cookie cutter RPG at best. The level up and character customization system is excellent. Any game with a vast environment that you can play any way you want is a good thing. Not for $60 though. That's a deal breaker. When I find it for $30 or less I will buy it. EDIT: The combat system in general reminds me of the first Witcher. Also a good thing. It's not just press a button and win or lose. You actually have to pay attention or you can and will die. If you pay attention (depending on your build) you can be one badass mofo.
I am trying to decide what I want next. It is either this, FF XIII-2 or Uncharted 3. Finished Arkham City already and I need something new.
Stay away from any FF game until they fix the battle system... Auto-battle is by far the worst idea for a turn based game EVER! I despise all FF13 and i am a huge!!! FF fan
Uncharted 3 is sick. That'd be my pick. I didn't mind FFXIII but Uncharted 3 was too good to pass up.
that sums it pretty well actually. i was excited for this time but the story and quests are incredibly generic.
