I hope this is the last of the pathetic "we should have traded it for Bush thread".
First....we don't know what they where asking for and if they would have traded it at all. Second, we have enoght holes now, imagine would it would have been with Bush. He would have run right into the hospital with no line. It was the WRONG MOVE FOR us. Over and out.

yup, it will be regretted, because not only can he break 44 yard pre-season runs, but he can also valet park season ticket holders cars between plays, put out fires with his magical extinguisher breath and rebuild New Orleans all by himself. oh, what he could have done for New York, he probably could have kept the WTC standing if he was there. I heard when he retires, they are going to rename the HOF Reggie's Hall, and the Saints the New Orleans Bush.

yeah, because its a direct quote from Sean Payton, the head coach of the Saints. Its not something rumored by a writer. Go join a Saints board if youre so upset

well said. i myself don't know too much about reggie bush, i just know it wasn't until this past season in college that all the hype came up around him. none of us have clue as far as how long or how consistent he will play. runningbacks average four years in the nfl, versus lineman which is closer to 8 or 10 years i believe. the saints even though they lost bentley have a very solid o-line unit, and there's only so long that reggie can scramble. the major thing to me is that when the line shores up you can be assured that your qb won't get killed and your running game will be solid. if we can't throw were forced to run, then you can't run because everyone knows it's coming ala herm edward's offense.

We've reached all new levels of complaining when we start talking about who we should've traded up to get instead of who we passed on. Collectively I'm beginning to think we are some of the worse fans for a sports team lol. So many folks complaining.....

Well done jets65498498 for concluding that we made a mistake after essentially one long run in the preseason..... I was thinking the EXACT same thing O_-

    Feelin' the Love

    1) 55 posts for this thread that everyone feels is "pointless". Also over 1400 views. Comparable post ... Penningtons performance in 1st preseason game. Admit it damn it, its a freakin' interesting post. Love it or hate it.

    2) Hey everyone come back to reality. Let's take the time machine back to the draft (waynes world ... dludddu...dluddu...dluddu) ... The Texans PASSED on Reggie Bush ... The Saints as were the Texans were concerned about signing Bush who was rumored to be looking for #1overall pick money based on the year 2067. The Jets had the #4 pick if you remember. (for the math impared thats only 2 picks from the Saints) as well as a another 1st rounder. You are all smoking crack if you think a deal wasn't possible.

    3) In typical Jets fashion we zigged when we should have zagged. The trade up for Robertson was a reach. At that time, as I do now, I felt it was too much for a poor mans Sapp. Now this year when we should have gone Ba*&s to the wall to get a future superstar within our reach we play it close to the vest. And yes many of the same FO players were involved in the decision, or at least Bradway was.

    4) Go back and watch that video again, it doesn't lie. Theorize and make yourself feel better but you all know that if the Jets wanted to they could have put him in Green and White and you would be doing backflips after that run. Don't worry the line will be good in a few years and then we can plug in any back and go to the superbowl.

I wanted Reggie Bush just as bad as anyone else, but what makes you think the Saints would ever trade out of that #2, especially when Bush fell to them. Would the Jets trade 4 or 5 picks for him? The team has more holes than swiss cheese, it just wouldn't have made sense.

I am not going to say that having Bush would not have been nice, but the most important thing is that we were not in a position for us to go after him.

Without refortification of the O-line I think we would have gone absolutely nowhere this year.

We would have given up DBrick, Mangold, Clemens & next years 2nd rounder, you think that is worth it??
