I'm a big fan of Maybin as a pass rusher and think he came a long way in developing as a pass rusher this year. I think he's a long way away from being a 3 down linebacker.
Conner had a much improved season last year, but the NFL is moving away from the fullback, so that's why not much is made of it. But did not realize only caught 52% of the balls thrown his way lol.
Disagree. Well not entirely - he's definitely developing and is a great pick up. However, being an every down guy means being able to play the rush. While he would be a big plus when going up again the McFadden type rushers as a spy, he would get knocked on his ass against straight ahead power runners. I do want to see him used more than 200 snaps though.
Alright so a question on Maybin Do you think that it would be more favorable to us if he continues to significantly progress as a pass rusher, however remains a useless sack of garbage against the rush ? Mostly because it would make him significantly more affordable, and as we all know guys like Ware/Suggs/Williams demand monster loads of cash. And to be honest I cant think of many (see any) OLBs who are absolutely dominant against the pass yet are consistently sitting on the bench in rushing situations
I think Maybin being the best player possible is in the best interest of the Jets. I would love for him to be able to stop the run but there is a lot of room for improvement in all parts of his game. If he can get better as a pass rusher and we get a pass rusher maybe Upshaw across from him then I would expect big things from him.
Sanchez deserves some of the blame here. Just because a pass is thrown his way doesn't mean it's catchable or well thrown or not chucked into triole coverage.
