I know power polls are a crock but most people still look at them. NFL.com just posted their final power poll of the season which had the jets at #17 which I think was a little harsh. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...al-2011-power-poll?module=HP11_content_stream I would be interested to know where people think the Jets genuinely are at this time. I have not included #1 or last as options to avoid obvious trolls.
i believe we are an above average team w/ the pieces we have. the reason i wouldn't put us in the top 10 yet because of the holes at RT, Safety positions, and possible lack of long ball threat. if we addresses those issues in the off season, i believe we can be a top 10/upper tier team next year.
THIS team, THIS year, played like a bottom ten team... ZERO consistency & not one COMPLETE game the ENTIRE year.
Yeah... I thought the final power rankings were the records of the teams. This is lame. Although the Jets are actually ranked where their record says they are, give or take a spot because of similar records.
Agree, but I went 17 since the AFC right now seems behind the NFC. You are what your record says you are.
Well, there are six teams with as many or more wins as the Giants. Does that mean their better? We should start splitting the trophy up now!
The Jets got lucky to go 8-8 last year with all the disarray that the lockout created. If Mangold goes down for the season early we're probably 4-12 instead.
This isn't a "potential" poll but an end-of-year retrospective poll. This Jets team was an absolute mess. 90% of the problems were on offense, but these problems were comprehensive and gave us literally no chance for success. Whether or not the numbers show it, there were probably only a small handful of teams that had as much difficulty sustaining a drive as we did this season. Sometimes it felt like trying to drive 80mph with the emergency brake on. If the regular season had been extended another week, as bad as these teams were, I honestly don't think we would have been able to beat any of the teams ranked 18-21 (Raiders, Cardinals, Seahawks, Bears). The rank of 17 is about right but a little generous in my opinion.
