Pretty good if true, this would definately help the Jets if they were to pursue him. He said he would take a contract where he would earn money for success (winning division, playoff games, Super Bowl etc). He would take no guarenteed money....

I believe he doing that because he wants to play for Jets. It a little funny to me that Woody going to have a sit down with MS right after he gets back from SB. Then the next day we hear Peyton been clear to play again.

Thats nice but it doesn't change the fact that it's still a risky move picking up Peyton.

Its sounded more and more like the Jets are not interested in Peyton Manning these last few weeks.

Where you would of thought that we should be anticipating the opposite due to the grim circumstances of this sham of a game

He could've just sent Woody a box of chocolates.

Just because Woody sat down with Mark doesn't mean that he told Mark :

"Oh by the way, all that stuff I said about how you're our QB? It was a lie and total bullshit 'cause we're going to get Peyton Manning."

I mean...especially after hiring Sparano whose specialty is something Rex wants and that's a BALL-CONTROL running-the-ball style offense.

    Bingo.

All that Manning talk should've died down with the hiring of Sparano. Why would we want someones damaged goods???????

I'm all for bringing in Manning at the right price.

Let's face it, it's time for Brunell to call it a career.

The facts are that no one knows where he will go until he gets there

If Manning really wanted to come to the Jets, he could have just come out of college as a junior back in the 1997 draft. But he went back to Tennessee for another year, and most felt it was because he DIDN'T want to come to NYC.

So I say, the hell with him.

You guys really think we would pass on Peyton manning because of Sparano? Peyton makes any offense work.

They took Sparano because he was the best fit given the current situation, but the fact that he's a run-first guy is no more than a blip on the radar when it comes to deciding whether to go after Peyton; it's not swaying the decision significantly either way.

My longshot is that he makes it as easy as possible for Houston to jettison Shaub and instantly make the Texans a Super Bowl favorite.

But only after the Jets make fools of themselves by publicly pursuing him.
