Do yourself a favor and cut all ties with Cablevision, I did and I'm know a very satisfied customer with DirecTV through Verizon, plus I'm saving a ton of money.
I don't care anymore. Verizon is coming in to wire my house for fiber optics on Tuesday, and Cablevision can kiss my hind quarter. I'll get a TiVO type unit, a second on demand box for a second TV set, and save $45 a month. Oh, yeah, more channels, including NFL Network. Call Verizon and ask when your area will get wired. I'll be able to watch the preseason games (all of them, not just the Jets) by next weekend.
Any news on Time Warner Cable and NFL Network ? I know TWC is trying but don't know if they can get it done. Look at this site they made about NFL Network..... http://www.nflgetreal.com/
Be very very careful with that fiber optic wiring. If they replace all your phone lines (they need to for you to use FIOS) then you can never convert back. I use DirecTV for TV, but I believe Verizon is a worse company than Cablevision. I do subscribe to optimumonline and optimumvoice though keeping my bills low....
DirecTV has exclusive rights for the NFL Network until 2010 I believe. So you may be waiting for a while.
I spoke to them about this.... they will not rmove any of my existing wiring at all, phone line, cable, etc. Switching back would be easy.
t exclusive rights are only for games not for the network, when i lived in DC cox cable carried the NFL net its the cable operators decision alone
