Unfortunately, previous years results have no bearing on future outcomes. You should know this.

Giants are worse. You want your market rival to Lose to an opponent you play twice a year. Simple calculus

It proves what we've been complaining about re Schitty. The 6 yard 3/4 wideouts swinglay IS offense as dictated by the rules. the intermediate passing game is over protected and under defensible (which is why Rex places a premium n corners) he needs to transfer that thought process to managing the OC

couldn't have said it any better. the giants losing might come with a price (watching new england win) but it'll be worth it for me. there are a few patriot bandwagoners here and there, buts its nothing compared to giants fans after another super bowl win.

So if the Giants lose, who's THE football team in NY?

Its ridiculous to say that back to back CG appearances are not significant, especially for a team like the Jets, whose lists of successes, over the years, is not, shall we say, impressive. What is not significant is for the Jets to rest on their laurels. I don't believe they did that, but I also don't believe the Jets and their fans have made as big a deal of the two appearances as Jets haters claim

What I do see is the back-to-back CG appearances being used as a straw-man type argument by Jet-detractors (Francessa is great at this BTW) to knock them down. That's the classic stereo-type that I see in your post.

If the Giants lose and and their supporters try to say that losing the SB is a bigger accomplishment than losing back to back AFCCGs, I'll enjoy seeing those people made to look foolish

They'll only look foolish to Jets fans who are intent about trying to maintain the argument that the Jets actually accomplished something in those two years. The Giants have already accomplished something this year: they won their league. Now you can downplay that all you like, but, as I said before, they're going to hang a new banner in the stadium next season (one more for Rex & Tanny to cover up at home games) and they're going to get a League Championship trophy to commemorate their achievement. What the Jets did just simply is not on par with that.

But going into the season, the Giants will start as the National Football Conference League Champions and the Jets will start as the Jets. Even if they lose, in the past four years, the Giants will have two SB appearance with one win. During the same period, the Jets biggest accomplishment will have been the two AFCCG losses that came before the 8-8 season.

Sorry man, but we both know that if those facts were reversed, you'd be crowing that the Jets are THE football team in NY ...and you'd have every right to do so.

If it happens, I'll enjoy every minute of it.
But right now, the qb question in Miami is so up in the air, I doubt anyone outside of a handful of people know what it really is.

well there are only two scenarios i can truly see playing out:

he plays for miami and thrives, maybe winning a ring or two

    or

he goes to the jets and breaks his neck and dies on the first play of the season

I'll agree that it might be the Giants town to start out, but its all about what have you done for me lately, and if you are a NY resident, then you know how quickly things can change

If Jets make SB and Giants don't, it a Jets town

Did people simply NOT watch football in 2007 & 2009? I can't believe how many times I have heard recently that Brady can't do anything besides throw short passes.

Is is possible instead of Brady's teammates "masking his deficiencies", that it is his teammates deficiencies that has resulted in a poor deep passing game? Who the fuck is Brady even throwing deep to? Off the top of my head, I can think of a few deep throws to Matthew Slater this season, one to Ocho, and a couple to Welker. Still care to argue that Brady's targets are "masking his deficiencies"?

Meanwhile Tebow has a legit deep threat in Eric Decker, a good all around WR in Demarius Thomas, and throwing deep is one of his relative strengths.

Also why passes "more than 21 yards"? That sounds like the kind of number you pick when you go fishing for something that isn't supported otherwise.
