Belichick went to new England in 96 when no one wanted him, he was used as the pawn in 97 to get Parcells to the NYJ(after his overtures of course were shot down to come back to the nyg) and he basically stayed with Parcells when no one else wanted him from 97-99. He wanted no part of the new ownership and neither did Parcells. Parcells at least had the decency to leave the new regime in good shape behind a very good 2000 draft. The Spector of a new owner scared them all away.
BB screwed you more than any silly tweet or comment by a Giant.

Anything said now is pissing on Rex when he's down. I give Rex credit he's taking his medicine like a man.

Yes the Jets were better in09 and 10. It really means nothing now. I suppose the 10 years comment starts 2 years before he actually made it because since his declaration in his book he's got egg all over his face.

I'm with you. Hate Bowl II, last time I was for the Giants to ruin New England's perfect season. Now I'm completely sick of Giants fans ever since our game. My daughter is in second grade and already she can't stand Giant fans. I hope it's a beatdown in the style of the old Dallas-Buffalo Super Bowls, also that there is never a Hate Bowl III.

If you were the devil I'd make that deal! Give the Pats one more guaranteed title and I'd be OK if they never get back there again in my lifetime.

The irony is that this site has alternating banner ads featuring Patriots and Giants conference championship gear.

I would say that Rex Ryan stirred the pot big time. I don't remember the "rivalry" being this heated 4 years ago. Ever since Rex Ryan was hired, the whole Jets organization and fans started taking shots at the Giants. Rex Ryan wrote this in this book, , “I have news for you. We are the better team. We’re the big brother. People might say they are the big, bad Giants, but we are not the same old Jets. … To me, it seems clear that right now we are the better team and we are going to remain the better team for the next 10 years. Whether you like it or not, those are the facts, and that’s what’s going to happen. I know it’s going to happen because our style of football is different. We are going to take over the town whether the Giants like it or not, so those fans on the fence that like both teams are going to be Jets fans in the end. The truth is, if I am going to watch one game, I am going to see the Jets, without a doubt. We are better.”

Then he followed it up with this, "“The facts are, we’ve played better than the Giants the last two years. And those are the only two years I’ve been here,” Ryan said. “Now what happens the next eight years I’ve talked about? We’re getting ready to find out. ... It’s nothing personal against the Giants, but it’s every team in the National Football League.”

That's a coach who is in lock step with the GM and Owner. He ALWAYS made it about being better than the Giants, even though he never brought the Jets to a Super Bowl, much less win it.

And to everyone who is bemoaning Giants fans, you do realize the Jets fans (mostly from the same geographical area) are the same, right? All of the cliche "classless" tags and other nonsense could just as well be said about the Jets or any other fan base. They say the same things, call up WFAN with the same gloating when they are winning. It's just now it's being thrown back at the Jets very hard because of all of the noise coming from the organization since 2009.

he was used as a pawn? he was given the HC job when BP stepped sown which was likely to be after 2 or 3 years(it turned out to be 3). In 1999 when no one wanted BB to be a HC Leon hess gave BB a $1 mil bonus so he wouldn't seek a new job.

If BP wanted no part of the new ownership why did he stay on w/ the organization in 2000? BB wanted no part of BP hovering over him, that's why he left.

BB left b/c of BP, BB may hate us but he's not a public jerk about it like the "classy" Giants organization. That's really why I despise the Giants b/c we always hear about the "class" and yet they always act the opposite of classy.

Not really, you were 9-7 and we were 8-8. Big deal.

The Giants run now is one game better than what the Jets did the past two years. I've got news for you, if New England beats you this week you end up no better than us. If you had New England in your division like we do you wouldn't even be the post-season either.

Parcells stayed in 2000 because he did not want to look like a total dbag to the Jets, fact is once Hess died he checked out.

If BB was so against Parcells and wanted out how come weis a Parcells guy left to? Not to mention Pioli, who you know is only Parcells son in law and all?

We can go on and on with this, fact is Rex backed by what his owner wanted threw the first stones and the Giants right or wrong are tossing eggs right back in his face.

Yes so true, Giants were 8-8 in 09 and 10-6 in 10, one game less than Jets, made playoff misses feel so much better.

You keep telling yourself the Giants in 2011 with a loss this week wound up no better than the Jets. I'll thank the Afc east for 4 wins and a super bowl appearance.

Oh please Jet fans are used to getting treated like shit, Cmen fans expect to be treated like they are the shit.

Its a fact that anyone who has been a Jet fan longer than the RR era is used to having their team constantly knocked down.

Fans of cmen are just spoiled

You either end up the champion or you don't. Ask Patrick Ewing how much credit you get for losing the final round, especially in New York. Maybe if you're the 18-0 Patriots you get an *, if you're 9-7 you go on the scrap heap with the 2005 Seahawks and the 2008 Cardinals.

The term "something and counting" means numbers above it. So "42 and counting" would include 43, 44, 45,....etc.
Funny how most of newer fans from opposing teams all have reading comprehension skills...

Thanks for the tip Displaced. You're correct, I've only been a fan since I was kid in the early 70's. If I'm new, I wonder what the rest of this board is?? Again thanks for the school lesson, have a nice night.

Well you have been posting a lot recently so I considered it "newer" like most of the other "newer" opposing fans who forgot to post in 3 years or just created an account. You could very well be a great poster and fan, but no matter nfl or jets forum I see random opposing fans just making jokes and it gets frustrating when I want to talk the state of the Jets and all I see is "no SB again", "Rex sucks", etc.
I'm sure you understand. Also, not sure who you root for, but if your a Giants fan please make sure your team wins on Sunday. Can't stand Boston when it turns into bandwagon nation. The Red Sox collapse was joyous to watch this year.
