I think youre completely over-valuing a Doan or a Selanne......but I agree I wouldnt give up any young D man for either or anyone like them....
I'm not saying they'd be worth the asking prices whatsoever. I just think under the circumstances of each player the price would be steep. Selanne even at his age is nearly a point per game player and Doan isn't gonna come cheap being the Mr. Coyote. That said, I'm with you. I wouldn't be into dealing for either of them.
If things keep going like this, this is Henrik's window, we have to do whatever it takes to get over the top.
We're not talking a guy that's anywhere near his twilight just yet. He's at the top of his game right now and there's no reason not to think he'll be consistant for the next (at least) three years. Mortgaging the future never worked for Sather in the past. They have some good kids still in the works for down the road when they may not be able to keep some of the young guys playing up right now.

i threw a whammy on the rangers i apologize. fuck!! still a very important point picked up at least even though it's a little hollow feeling, and more on the bright side about them in quite sometime is even when it went to OT I had all the confidence in the world that they were going to win some way somehow as they have been all year and i haven't felt like that in a long time. this team is doing something special this year. confidence is instilled.
