I think the most important thing that has come of this is that some of the guys who we expected to be leaders will step up now and realize its their place to take this mess and fix it. I.E. Nick on the offense ( though Mark has to really come in a be a bit more vocal about owning this team if he plans to be the QB) and Revis on the Defense. These guys are two of the best if not the best players at their positions in the entire NFL they have earned the right for all players to listen to them, and I would say by thier recent comments they plan to address this during OTA's
You're right and maybe that's why they are gone (or at least that's part of why). If they knew, Ryan should have known.
This has to be the biggest bunch of bull I've ever heard. Most of the fans knew after the Baltimore game and the supposed "meeting" between the receivers and coaches that there was a problem there. And you mean to tell me that Rex didn't know there was something going on? There's no way in the world that I'm buying that. Rex chose to ignore it plain and simple. I hope Revis isn't naive enough to really believe that Rex didn't know anything.
THat's a good question and the first thing that came to mind when I read the original post. Why would Revis think that they will somehow just "talk it out" in OTAs, when they DIDN'T talk it out during the season when it was important. How are things going to change when all the key players are still there. Is Holmes suddenly going to be less selfish. Is Sanchez going to suddenly be less coddled. And who exactly are those "leaders" who will fix this, and where were they when the problem first surfaced.???????
Guys, hopefully more an d more of you realize that about thalf the team realized that Sanchez absolutely blows. Again...a lot of you LOVED to blame Schotty. But I guarantee ( and I kow this comment of mine is getting old) but at practice, everyone must have been looking around wondering how bad t his Sanchez sucks dick. It was NOT Schotty's fault. How can he possibly call the right plays when his QB cannot make a single fuckin throw ( ok, over reaction there). The number of guys on this team apparently is pretty large as far as who wants Manning here. Can you Sanchez defenders really just continue to sit there and think " oh, next year is a fresh start, Sanchez will be fine". Not gonna happen. Sanchez is absolutely horrible. And the argument that Eli and Montana and Peyton and whoever the fuck else also sucked in their third year is so moronic. Thats like asking heroin addicts if they ever smoked pot--of course they did. But what % of pot smokers do you think do heroin? Let that set in for a minute. LT, Holmes, Plax, the Oline, schotty, Revis, Scott, Callahan and Im sure many others know 100% that Sanchez sucks.
I would like to be optimistic about this whole scenario, but the conspiracy theorist in me can't let some things go. First, Matt Cavanaugh, the QB coach, is a longtime friend and co-coach of Rex's dating back to Arizona, under Buddy, and also with the Ravens. I just can't believe that this guy A) did not see what was going on, and B) didn't tell Rex about it as it was happening. By the way, Schotty is gone, Callahan is gone, Ellard is gone, but Cavanaugh remains. Maybe Rex stayed out of offensive matters. But he had eyes and ears in the room to tell him what was going on. Not that I ever liked anything about the Schotty Frankenstein Offense, but it almost seems like he was being railroaded from within. And that is probably a good thing, but it's not the line we're being sold by the Jets.
Coaches don't police the locker rooms. That's the job of the team leaders. The leaders failed to do so.
Although NFL head coaches are definitely too busy to walk the locker room like a high school or college coach, there are systems and people in place to make them aware of dire situations like this. It's not as simplistic as you make it out to be.
Jonny. Stick to shit jokes unless you can justify your blowhard football posts with anything resembling knowledge of the game.
Youre not reading between teh lines bro. What do you think the discord that Revis is talking about is? 90% of the trouble was OBVIOUSLY everyone realizing that Sanchez sucked and was being coddled. Thats how I derived my response
Due youre act is getting old too bro. Real old. You are defending Sanchez blindly dude. Throw a fact or two that you find on the internet and pass it off as football knowledge. Enough is enough. You say Sanchez is great but the Jet players, opposing players and half the coaching staff thinks he sucks. My knnowledge of the game in Sanchez's caase is watching him for 3 years make the same mistakes over and over and over again. Not reading defenses. Not identifying a fuckin blitz or knowing what the fuck to do about it.Missing receivers left, right and sideways. Dumping off immediately instead of standing in teh pocket and going through his fucking progressions. Awful clock management. Happy feet. Complete pussification after he gets hit the first time in a game. Not protecting the ball. Fumbling the ball. Throwing wayyy too many INTs. Not having any touch whatsoever on his short passes.
My act is getting old? I will give you my car and every cent in my bank account if you can find a single post of mine where I say that Sanchez is a 'great' QB. You need to stick to the BS forum, because over the years it has become pathetically obvious that you don't know shit about football.
Post a link, escarole, I will be glad to school you. Edit: ah, I see you made an impassioned edit of your own.
Tell me what mistakes. Be specific. Don't just regurgitate someone else's words. If we are going to debate his weaknesses, you need to get specific.
My edit was to fix my constant fuckin typos because I have fat fingers and to add some more faults. Bottom line, everything I listed as a fault of Mark's are accurate. Too many faults dude. And I dont mean to be a dick because I actually enjoy your posts. But the whole " I dont know football cuz Im in the BS forum is retarded. Ive been watching this fuckin team for 32 years. More importantly than that...when I hear half the team thinks Sanchez sucks, I get a little suspicious
dude, the mistakes are in teh paragraph below. I shouldnt have said mistakes. I should have said weaknesses or short-comings
Then what are you basing your assertions on? Surely there is situational football that you can specify your criticisms upon? Like a play that stands out to you? Or are you typically too drunk and stoned on gameday to remember such things? Well I guess I will make it easy for you to scurry off, because I have a feeling that you are now realizing how out of your depth you are. I have never viewed Mark Sanchez as more than a work in progress that shows a lot of potential in high pressure situations. Search my posts and you will see that. But situational football is how you tell when things go wrong, not how you and your party buddies tell each other over chili dogs and shots of Cuervo how MoleFace can't throw the ball at the side of the barn. Any new grocery store takes? That is why anyone knows who you are on this board.
