Great hire for them imo. Put together a great defense, then have Luck put up points in the offense. They will be deadly in 3 years.
There was a time when a head coach who was a top defensive coach would have been the best possible thing for Peyton - he was effectively the OC anyway, so the head coach would just stay out of his way, and maybe could improve the defense. Nowadays, however, it probably does mean that they are committed to going for Luck and hoping for a great defense to cover the mistakes of a young QB.

4 of his 11 starters are the best defensive at their position in the game, I think almost anyone in the league can be the Ravens DC and perform well enough to not be scrutinized. They would have been better off begging Cowher to come coach Luck, this whole situation screams Spagnuolo all over again but in Indy not Stl.
