Jets | Team Claims J. Martin Jeff Chilcoat has confirmed to KFFL the New York Jets claimed free agent FB Jamar Martin (Saints) off waivers.
He's a fullback, so I doubt he would've been running the ball alot anyway. But 4 career caries for 7 yards?!? Man, he must be great at blocking or something if he was able to last 3 seasons in the league.
That's going to be pretty easy considering you just showed him how. Couldn't you have just spotted him the 'C' and then we might have seen what he had?
I can just see it now: Jamar on the sidelines - C-U-R-T-I-S M-A-R-T-I-N That'd be the kind of spelling I'd expect him to be capable of.
Just an update on the coming of our savior  http://www.northjersey.com/page.php...lRUV5eTY5NzU0NjkmeXJpcnk3ZjcxN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXk2
Thanks Hiker. For those whose computers are as slow as mine, here the article. Jets hope rest readies Chad Sunday, August 13, 2006 By RANDY LANGE STAFF WRITER The Jets issued no update Saturday on Chad Pennington and whether he re-injured, tweaked, twinged or did no damage at all to his right shoulder on the second-quarter safety-blitz sack by Tampa Bay's Kalvin Pearson. Guard Pete Kendall described the Bucs' defensive call that sprung Pearson loose on an inside blitz as "an impressive play by them and an aggressive blitz." Preseason blitzes surely are not Pennington's favorite strategy -- a Giants blitz in the teams' 2003 exhibition meeting resulted in the fracture/dislocation of his left hand. The Jets had off Saturday after the 16-3 loss to the Bucs, but it's a sure bet Pennington was at the team complex getting treatment for, if nothing else, the general effects of his first game action since last September. Today marked the final scheduled two-a-day practices of training camp. Saturday night Mangini changed the schedule to one practice at 2 p.m. "My goal is to come back out and be able to practice with my teammates and be there for every rep they want me to take," Pennington said of today's double session. "I've been pleased so far to take all the reps they want me to take and not sit out any. And that's why I really focus on my strength and conditioning." The Jets can only hope that strength and conditioning will enable Pennington to survive this latest twist to his lightning-rod right shoulder. INSIDE STRAIT: Derrick Strait said the last time he played safety was in high school. "But last year I played it a little bit on the scout team," he said. "That helped me out more than anything." Strait made the move to safety at last week's practices and started there against the Bucs. BRIEFS: Kendall's first question to reporters: "Do you know if deodorant is on the banned list?" Even though the Jets fly charter, they also have to conform to the restrictions placed on commercial flights in the wake of Thursday's arrests of alleged terrorist plotters in England. ... Coach Eric Mangini announced after the game that defensive tackle Sione Pouha has been placed on injured reserve, but didn't specify why. It is believed Pouha has had reconstructive surgery to repair his right knee, which he sprained on the third day of camp. ... The Jets were awarded running back/fullback Jamar Martin on waivers from New Orleans, but an NFL bylaw is holding up Martin's arrival.
