    Re-signees:
Sione Pouha - Has worked his into one of the best NTs in the league. He's also one of the team leaders. He has to be retained.

Aaron Maybin - Sadly, he was our pass rush. Hopefully, he gives us a discount for giving him his second chance.

Robert Turner - Quality back-up linemen are hard to come by. When you have one, you should try to hold on to him.

    Free Agency:
Levi Brown OT Cardinals 6-6 325 – Because of his limited athleticism many projected Brown as more of a RT coming into the 07 draft. The Cardinals taking him 5th overall, though rather high for a RT, it was understood since their thought-to-be franchise QB at the time was left-handed. As a RT he was pretty good. He was part of that O-line protecting Warner as the Cardinals made their improbable Super Bowl run in 2008 and the next year he was a Pro-Bowl alternate. His issues arose once he was moved over to the left-side in 2010. Since then he’s been pretty bad.

Fred Davis TE Redskins 6-4 258 - Basically a bigger Keller with better hands. Jets get to make up for drafting Keller over Davis in 2008 (I'm still not over it) and Sanchez gets another one of his college teammates in the fold.

Donovan McNabb QB Vikings 6-2 240 - His days as a starter are over but as a back-up he's a very attractive insurance policy.

Anthony Gonzalez WR Colts 6-0 193 – When Gonzalez has found a way to get on the field, he has been productive. Unfortunately, getting on the field has deemed very difficult for this former 1st round draft pick. Supposedly, he’s now healthy and out to prove that he was not a wasted pick.

Ryan Mundy FS/SS Steelers 6-1 208- A back-up in Pittsburg that could start for a lot of other teams. He’s a good player playing behind a Pro-Bowler and a HOFer. He’s a RFA who at most would cost us a 6th round draft choice. He’s only 26 and he’s had some starts under his belt. We’re not going to be able to do better in the 6th round.

    Trade(s):
Trade Dustin Keller to whoever for a third round pick. We would have Fred Davis so we won’t need to be greedy.

    Draft:
    1. Whitney Mercilus DE/OLB Illinois 6-4 265 - Despite my reservations about him successfully converting to a 3-4 OLB, I say grab him if he is there at 16. I will put my faith on Rex to find a way to use his non-stop motor, strength and agility.

    2. Markelle Martin FS Oklohoma State 6-1 200 – Intelligent playmaking safety who plays bigger than his listed size. This guy really lays the lumber on WRs.

    3. Chris Givens WR Wake Forest 6-0 195 - Most on this board seem to want to target only the big WR prospects. I'm following the Steelers and Packers model of quick, fast WRs that can get separation in a hurry and YAC. What made Braylon such a great fit was his speed not necessarily his size.

    3. Antonio Allen SS South Carolina 6-1 208 – Wrecks havoc at the LOS playing the “Spur”, hybrid LB/Safety position, for the Gamecocks

    4. AJ Jenkins WR Illinois 6-0 190 - Smooth WR who plays much faster than whatever his recorded time will end up being. His body control and ball skills reminds me a lot of Denarious Moore, who the Raiders stole in the 5th round last year.

    5. Emmanuel Acho ILB Texas 6-2 245 - Bart's replacement whether it be this upcoming year or next. Intelligent linebacker who is equally adept at defending the run and pass.

    7. Donte Paige-Moss DE/OLB North Carolina 6-4 260 - This kid is a fool for coming out after a disappointing regular season followed by knee injury in his Bowl game. That said the talent is there. This is just a low risk high reward pick.

    7. Winston Guy Jr SS Kentucky 6-1 216 - Think E. Smith with athleticism. At worst he'll be a solid back-up and great teams player, exactly what you would hope for from a 7th round pick.

    2012 Depth Chart:
    Offense
QB – Mark Sanchez, Donovan McNabb, Greg McElroy
RB – Shonn Greene, Ronnie Brown, Joe McKnight
    FB – John Conner
    WR1: Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Kerley
WR2 - Chris Givens, AJ Jenkins
TE – Fred Davis, Jeff Cumberland
    LT – D’Brickashaw Ferguson
    LG - Matt Slauson
C - Nick Mangold, Robert Turner
RG - Brandon Moore, Vladimir Ducasse
RT – Bobbie Massie, Wayne Hunter

    Defense
    DE: Muhammad Wilkerson, Marcus Dixon
    NT: Sione Pouha,
    DT: Kendrick Ellis,
ROLB - Calvin Pace, Aaron Maybin
WLB - Bart Scott, Emmanuel Acho
MLB - Davis Harris, Josh Mauga
LOLB - Whitney Mercilus, Donte Paige-Moss
CB1 – Darelle Revis, Kyle Wilson
FS – Markelle Martin, Eric Smith
SS – Ryan Mundy, Winston Guy Jr
    CB2 – Antonio Cromartie,

Obviously, the depth chart is not totally complete as I don’t have a good sense of whose under contract and who is not. I would love to let Holmes walk or trade him but from what I’ve read that not really feasible give our cap situation. The plan here is to stock up on young WRs so that we are in better position to let him go a year or two from now. Comments welcomed.

I would dig Fred Davis over DK though, also I would like a better 2nd rounder and some better defensive free agents

Pretty good mock offseason. The only things I disagree with are trading Keller and getting Davis, and drafting Martin in the second round. I also don't know if Paige-Moss drops to the 5th round, but I would take him in a heartbeat if he did. He was a sure fire first round pick before the year.

I like the idea of bringing in some new recievers but I would also like it if they brought in some young OL depth.

He is honestly one dumb block of shit. I think someone had posted his twitter comments on here a little while ago... Not a good person at all; huge character concerns and had a major injury. That being said, I would take a flier in the late rounds (5-7) as a low risk-high reward pick.

I think a huge issue that people are overlooking is consistency at the WR position for Sanchez. It's no secret why DK lead the team in Receptions this year, considering he's the only consistent target Mark has had since entering the league.

    The boy needs consistency.

Moss is an idiot for declaring early, but he also probably has one of the worst attitudes of any player, Ill pass

I am not a fan of Paige-Moss. With that said, if we can get him from the 5th round on, why not? He will be a pain to have in the locker room, but he won't have a huge contract like Holmes where you can't cut him. If he doesn't work out, you can cut him. Considering the Jets wasted a pick this year on a guy just because he is the friend of Sanchez, I don't see a problem with taking a flier on a guy that is a first round talent who fell a lot because of major issues and injuries. I know this is a bad comparison but the Eagles took a flier on Vick with no guaranteed money and hoped he would turn out good post-jail. He ended up being their starting QB. I don't see a problem with drafting Paige-Moss towards the end of the draft, and saying to him "Look, I am not going to put up with your BS, if you can't behave yourself like an adult, then you will be cut, but if you can, we would like you to develop into a starter for this team". He was a top 10 talent before the season started, so what is the problem with wasting a late round pick on a guy with tremendous upside. His upside is likely bigger than whoever we will have the chance to draft in the first round.

If it was only the character concerns I would conceded the 5th round but character concerns + lack of production + knee injury = 7th round. I doubt that he will recover in time to blow anybody away at the combine or a pro-day.

I can't stand Keller. He has to lead the league in most helmet deflections in the past 4 years.

I really like Fred Davis but there is no way you get rid of Keller. I think Keller has good potential and has great chemistry with Sanchez why mess Sanchez any more than already.

As a Carolina fan, and someone who has watched him for 3 years, Donte Paige-Moss is an excellent prospect for OLB with enormous talent. That said, there's no way in hell I want him playing for my team again. He punched a teammate his freshman year to the point the teammate took out assault charges. He played well in the 2010 season with Quinn suspended, but he racked up personal foul penalty's. This year, he got leap frogged on the depth chart by a true sophomore. His talent isn't worth the headaches and overall douchebaggery.

Legarrette Blount didn't get hopped on the depth chart by a younger player. He was replaced when he KO'd my man from Boise.

He'd be the new David Clowney at the very least.
