No explosive players make it very difficult to score. Their receivers got less seperation than Burress

Don't think the Niners problem today was explosive players. They got a kickass D and an offense that minimizes turnovers. That combo would've been good enough to put them into the SB this year if their stupid punt returner would've pulled his head out of his ass.

Their receivers are nothing like the Jets.

Now special teams on the other hand.....

The Niners defense is in a whole other class than the Jets.

Their pass rush, sure, not their D.

And of course, the similarities between Alex Smithy & Mark Sanchez give me chills

U see Harbaugh in the press conference? he is crushed. They outplayed em and lost. Huge setback to the 49ers to imo, they got a target on their back now, there division got better in the season.

They gave up 1 rushing TD, and one 100 yard rusher all damn year. Their D is in a completely different league than the Jets.

If they don't play #10 the 49ers are in the SB. The guy lost the game by himself.

harbaugh is a far better Head coach than rex. probably wouldnt be as good of a DC, but as a manager of an entire team? way way better

This. Which is why the point of this thread is fleeting.

Vernon Davis' first TD to start off the game perfectly highlighted our need for a big-play threat. It set up all the short passes to the backs and the tight ends in the first half. I couldn't help but think how non-functional their offense would be without a player like Vernon Davis. They would be exact copies of our offense. Hell, we'd probably be a little better, considering we have better talent at wide receiver.

I don't care to argue this today. This late game wasn't about quarterbacking.

They had a better season, but were yet to see if they can sustain that success.

what's tough is most likely with a 1st place schedule they will not repeat the success they had this season. Hard to go from worst to 1st and stay in 1st. That is why the playoffs always look so different each season.

I say this in general with Mark never playing a home playoff game compared to Alex and his 2.
