Very interesting indeed, I guess the question of the chicken (schotty) or the egg (Dirty) will be answewred in the coming year. Cannot imagine what this board will be like if the Ram with Sam Bradford under center running Schotty system whips our asses...

The Rams with Schotty will and all will panic on this site. Including the NY media.

To be expected from Rams offense:

    1. Sam Bradford will never look like his college self (which he remotely resembled in his brief NFL career.) He will develop a few things: a. Deer-in-the-headlight look b. happy feet c. inaccuracy all across the field

    2. Steven Jackson's shelf life decreased by half.

    3. With the shoddy OL that Rams have, expect Bradford to stay in Injury list more often than not.

    4. WRs all running button hooks a full yard shy of 1st down marker! Yummy!

    5. WRs running into each other. There is nothing more satisfying than the sight of perfectly executed WR-bump-into-each-other play!

    6. Short passing attack grinds the otherwise functional running game to a grinding halt. (LOL!!)

P.S. It is indeed true that if you package well enough, you can even sell chicken shit as a useful goods in this land. In that regard, Brian's best possible post in Jets organization might have been the PR department.

The question has always been is it Sanchez's talent lev, is it the coaches fault, or both.

I have always leaned towards it being more Sanchez because on Sunday he is responsible for making the play happen even if it is not the best call. Rex's presser where he says that the offense was just too complex for Sanchez doesn't make you more confident as no offense should be out of his reach.

we got what we wanted the OC out the door. Just not so sure that he is not going to succeed with the Rams. Hopefully this is what Mark needs.

    jack,

think about this : If Rex did not understand a word of what Brian's system constituted, how the fuck would Sanchez know?

Brian thinks this is one whole damn videogame he's playing where he has the gamepad... [IMG]

Getting rid of him will turn out to be the best thing to ever happen to Sanchez.

Agreed though i'm going to say right from the get-go that it was Schotty based purely on how other QBs he's coached fared upon his(or their) departure(Brees, Favre, Noodle-Arm).

I look for Mark to have a huge bounce-back year. :)

I was reading the Rams forums and they don't know what they are getting at all, they are under the impression that BS is a run first OC, I did not post any replies, did not want to waste my time and make them feel like I was down on the rams, which I'm not because I wanted spags to be successful.

They will turn on him the moment Jackson starts getting the ball 15 times a game.

I don't know why this is a bad thing, the complexity of the offense does not make the QB more competent, John Gruden had one of the simplest offensive schemes as a coach and yet he managed to be successful, the Niners HC also has a simple offensive scheme and look at what he has been able to accomplish, Kevin Gilbride also has a simple offensive scheme and he has the second best offense in the NFL.

Understanding a more complex scheme does not make you a better qb, it's a matter of stretching the defense and creating favorable matchups, and a more complex offense does not accomplish this, a well designed offense does.

I was planning on picking up Bradford as a 2nd QB in my fantasy football draft this year, but that's been all shot to shit now...Good Luck Rams.

The real question at this point is has Sanchez been in the right system or not? The Jets really hated when he improvised and scrambled to make things happen late in games. That's the root of the Matt Cavanaugh chewing Sanchez out right after he lead a last second game-winning drive that ended in a scramble TD toss in 2010.

It galled Schotty that he couldn't get Sanchez to stand in the pocket in crunch time, instead repeatedly watching him try to extend plays by rolling out to buy time. Probably the Jets would have been better off the last three seasons if the shotgun plays had been scrapped totally and Sanchez had been allowed to roll out of the pocket instead.
