I wouldnt forget the Dolphins, Yeah they arent that great and have no coach as of now, but its a warm place, where its easy to live, they have an outstanding WR in Marshall, a perfect receiving RB in Bush for Manning, a good LT, and an okay defense. Im not saying their his top choice but they shouldn't be left out.
Good call, cant argue this at all. Just havent heard them tied to him much often at all. If they get Peyton, id want us to be all over signing Moore
Youre right they havent been tied to anything BUT they need a QB badly and most likely could offer the Colts something if they put him on the block. Maybe even their first round pick this season which would be great for the Colts. They could potentially draft Luck and his future LT in Martin or Reiff. Moore would be a very good back up, he could fill into this offense very easily, he can role out and obviously has experience with Sparano. Although Id hate to see Peyton in a Dolphins uni.
If Peyton stays in Indy he will never play in the post season ever again And there arent a ton of options for him elsewhere, especially if he wants to retire with another ring
Explain to me that rationale. How the hell will signing Peyton Manning actually RESOLVE the conflict? All it would do is postpone it 'till Peyton leaves in a year or two, then we're back to where we were : With a Young QB who his Primadonna WR doesn't care for. I know many here won't care about that if it led to a Championship(even if it is by someone who is merely a Hired-Hand to do it), but I certainly care 'cause : A.) there's no guarantee that the Jets win it all with him there regardless B.) There's no guarantee that Peyton doesn't get hurt at some point(you know how Jets Luck is)
I think in his interview, Sparano mentioned he ran the Run-and-Shoot in his HS days coaching....I think.
I think Peyton will come cheaper than what people are expecting. I could see us getting him for 15-20 Million. I know its "nuts" but he doesnt have many options to choose from. He might be better off retiring then going to some slap dick team like the Browns or Chiefs. Championship wise, the Jets are the #1 option. The 49ers were the previous #1 but their out of the running after what happened last Sunday. Its all what Manning wants to do. Does he want to become richer and probably never win another ring. Or take less and put himself on a contender. Its really going to be intriguing wherever he lands.
Doesn't matter if the O-Line is fixed to the point that it's a brick-wall. All it would take is ONE SINGLE SOLITARY BLOWN ASSIGNMENT by the O-Line and that's the end of Peyton Manning.
Manning? Why would the Giants or Patriots have any interest in him? Or are you responding to a different post?
If the Jets get Peyton Manning, it would set the franchise back greatly. You absolutely cannot give up on Sanchez after one unsuccessful season. What's the guarantee Manning will be healthy?
The funny part is this is Sanchez's best season statistically, but the rest of the team just wasnt on point.
As enticing as it is to imagine Peyton in Jets Green it's just not a great idea. It's like taking a road trip in a sleek Rolls Royce with a beat up engine. You'll ride in style for a couple of weeks but, after a few potholes and bumps you ain't going nowhere quick. Fix the O-line, draft a pass rusher, sign a receiver and put Sanchez in the driver's seat.
Didn't realize you were a board certified surgeon. His head must really be resting on a house of cards huh? I suppose it doesn't matter to you, or any of the other peyton haters that you can expect at least 90% of the cartilage and ligament strength after a 1 year rest period from surgery. The most concerning thing regarding Peyton's health is whether his stem cell transplants took, and whether that's added the strength he was needing. His surgery was neurological, not structural.
IMO the only way Manning comes to the Jets is via a trade, the Colts will not release such a valuable asset. The $28 million due Peyton will be reworked into a 3 year 45 million type deal for the trading team. The real question is what will it cost to get Peyton with multiple teams involved. If Carson Palmer cost 2 possible #1 draft choices what is Peyton worth? Trading Sanchez after you have acquired Peyton might return a 4th round pick at best.
Fixed it for you. Peyton Manning is not quite as dumb as Mark Sanchez in terms of pocket awareness. Jokes aside, when he was playing, he wasn't getting sacked more than twice a game on average. In fact, by average he was getting sacked once per game. (16 during the entire season.)
