Rangers owner Jim Dolan, who hasn't spoken to Rangers media since lockout, makes surprise visit to interview room. Says Rangers near Cup.

    AGrossRecord Andrew Gross
Dolan credits Glen Sather for franchise's turnaround, restructuring organization, sticking with kids, good drafts, etc.

Torts, who hears Dolan say his team is near a Cup, can't believe it, tries to squelch that talk before it goes too far. Calls it "B.S."

Jimmy is jumping on the bandwagon already? Figures. Probably realizes the Knicks won't win shit with how they're built.

Can someone put the invalid back in his cage before he fucks the whole thing up?

He should be barred from associating himself with anything Rangers related

It's pretty hard to hate on Sather these days. Took him awhile but he built team around a solid foundation of homegrown talent.

Ten+ fucking wasted years to build a solid team? Wow, build a statue. This season just means we have 10 more years of this clown. Torts is the driving force, not Sather.

While Torts is great, if you couldn't see what this franchise has done in the past 8 years, then you're just being a hater. Sure, having a generational talent in goal falling into your laps helps a lot, but Sather built a solid team while keeping the team competitive. How many teams in the league can say that?

Like I said, it's tough to hate on him now.

You were in pretty safe territory the last decade. You are quick to assign blame but unwilling to give him credit for this roster. It's not like this is a one year shot type roster either. This team is young everywhere.

There are countless teams that have been "competitive" if that is what you want to call winning 3 playoff series in 10 years in a league where more then half the teams make the playoffs "competitive"

10 years and he hasn't devolved a single goal scorer

Possibly because there isn't anything developmental about a goal scorer. Goal scorers in the AHL become nice players in the big leagues. You can't fault Sather for not grooming a Cally, Ansy, Dubi into Sidney Crosby.

This is my only problem with rooting for the Rangers. There are improvements that can be made like every other team around but how about enjoying waking up and knowing they're tops in the league and conference instead of complaining about not having the league's best scorer. Probably the same people I have to stomach in the 400's who are yelling "SHOOT IT" as soon as someone crosses the blue line.

I can fault him for pick Hugh Jessman over Zach Pairse and Ryan Kessler.

My problem is with fans and a fucking moron owner acting like we won something the second week in January.

    Sather is a jackass.

This team needs someone else who can score if we want a shot at the Cup. Tonight was ridiculously frustrating.

That sucks, I hope McDonough is alright. He's easily been our best all-around defenseman. 32 minutes of ice time is a workhorse amount. Fortunately we have a shit-ton of Defensive depth.
