Amazing that Rex Ryan says positive things about his team, talks about how confident he is with his players and gets crucified in the media for it.

Antrel Rolle is non stop in his guarantees, talking about teams being in trouble. etc...and just an article. No Giant fans are telling him to shut up and just play...such a double standard out there in the media.

It really is ridiculous. The Giants talk more than the Jets do and that never gets pointed out. And usually their talk is critical of their opponents, rather than just supporting their own team, like Rex does.

Why would the media cover the Giants ? They're irrelevant

Their talk does not overshadow Rex' mouth. Not even close, plus they are talking now, after winning big games. Not running their mouthes in August and shitting the bed all Fall long

    After winning big games ?

The shit talk started after they beat the FALCONS in their own home, who have like 0 players who ever won a playoff game .

    Cmon now

Players talk smack all the time in most sports. It's up to coaches to show a little decorum. Something Rex does NOT do.

As a Pats fan, I pay a lot more attention to the Jets than Giants, and one thing I will say that this playoff season has really revealed is one major difference:

The Jets coach does the talking. Most of it, anyways, I think he means well, to take pressure off of the players and place it on himself, but when he makes promises, his players are the ones that need to keep them.

The Giants players are the ones doing the talking. When players do the talking they are putting the pressure on themselves as well, but they make the coach look like he doesn't discipline his team, especially when he says "talk is cheap".

You claim there is a double standard but you actually unwittingly point out why no one is telling them to shut up. The ones talking are Giants players, not Giants coaches (especially the head coach). This talk is expected from players, not coaches, and Rex is a head coach...hence the media scrutiny when he says something as opposed to Antrel Rolle.

    Cimini touched on this earlier.

"Because the Giants are saying it as they prepare for championship, Jets were saying it in the preseason."

That's BS, because the Jets were getting killed for it the last two years when we were preparing for Championship Games as well.

Yeah, home playoff games aren't big games, C'mon now! Home playoff games are like....the 3rd preseason game where teams rest starters for 4 quarters.

That's a joke. The last two season Antrel Rolle predicted the Giants wouldn't collapse and make the playoffs mid season. Both seasons they missed the playoffs. Wasn't it last year Brandon Jacobs threw his helmet into the stands? Imagine if a Jet did that? From what the media says eating a hot dog on the sideline is worse than throwing your helmet in frustration at fans.

When Tuck called the Falcons O line dirtbags, ESPN said it was a smart move because it put it in the Refs mind.
When Brandon Marshall said Revis gets Jordan rules, ESPN said it was a smart move because it puts it in Refs minds.
I don't remember Suggs' exact quote, but he ripped Tebow even though they weren't playing them.
Imagine if a Jet said Brady/Manning got Jordan rules, or called the Dolphins O line dirtbags, or ripped a player they weren't/haven't played that season?

Another example is Deion Branch calling the Jets classless because they flew like a Jet after the playoff win. That same Branch that waved a terrible towel after a playoff, tried to imitate the Jets chant, and him and several teammates flew like Jets earlier in the 45-3 beatdown. The media came out and said Deion is right and you never see the Pats doing this.

So there is a bias, and it is easier to push Rex Ryan and the Jets are trash talkers story than the other ones.

The Giants always talked big in the past before and en route to their 2007 SB, to be fair they did get criticiez but it subsided after they finally won in 2007. Rex talks a lot and he'll get grief until we win.

I'm overlooking the Giants and the media. My only exposure to the NFL since the Miami game has been here and Twitter.

Jerry Rice called B Jacobs "soft". Looking forward to B Jacobs' response to arguably the best to ever step on the field.

I don't know. Rex was running his mouth before we playe them, then they beat us. They went on to beat the Cowpies when it counted. Something the Jets couldn't do even in Miami. They may have talked after the Falcons game, but they went on the beat Green Bay in GB. They've backed it up and earned the right
