He mentioned that Sporano would have alot of authority including being able to hire 3 assitants. We know Haley could be one and I expect a QB coach to be another. I also expected Devlin to be the OL coach but maybe Sporano has other ideas. Thoughts?
Haley would not be hired as a Sparano assistant. If he is hired (doubtful at this point) it would be as assistant head coach.
He could be hired as QB coach and then designated as AHC afterwards. From what I remember, that is how it happened with Callahan.
Whatever it takes to improve this offensive offense, I'm all for it. (no over the hill injured QBs though)
There is definitely an issue when both have most recently been head coaches. It's one thing to take a job from HC to coordinator..it's another to go from HC to working for a coordinator...I would guess that's a major problem in this whole thing..Haley can most likely do better than that.
Yes, well, I guess it may have been different if they actually hired Haley, which I don't think will happen at this point, Sparano getting authority like this was probably a calculated leak now that Haley is likely not an option. I think the Jets wouldn't want Haley to feel like he was being demoted to position coach, so this seems like them anything Haley is not in the equation anymore.
Mort could be wrong......How do you know that Mort isn't reporting that some team that wants Haley, told him they HEARD that Sparano was getting tons of authority. One assistant is Offensive QC, one is OL....That report considering the size of offensive staffs doesn,t really say much.
The rumor is if he does a good job next year Parcells will let him pick the defensive and special teams staff.
Is Sanjay Lal, the WR coach, a Sparano hire? Since they hired him after Sparano I'm guessing he had a say too...
so now it's a shocking news story worthy of another new thread that the new offensive coordinator will be allowed to hire the offensive assistant coaches he wishes? Maybe I'm being too critical of things now that the negative nelly gloomers have just about hijacked every thread. If so, I apologize but it's pretty much a waste of time and effort to try and inject even the smallest positive thought up against their glorious desire to wallow in negativity
Its said that misery loves company. No doubt the gloom and doomers you refer are very unhappy with their lives. They know its far easier to rain on successful people than to work hard and raise themselves. You are so right!
You guys are absolutely correct. Misery loves company and attracts people that are generally losers in life. They won't even by happy when not if we win another Super Bowl. P.S. Remember living well is the best revenge!
