I don't know if I agree that Rex's biggest weakness involves anything regarding football at all. I think his biggest weakness has been exposed this past week or two after the season ended: he doesn't have the respect of his players and they are running amok. No discipline, no cohesiveness - that's on the head coach. All the way.

The homerism in the OP is pretty overflowing. Although I do think Mark should at least play out his contract. If he is sucking wind next year, then we seriously need to look for another QB. But I expect that we dump Mark after he regresses. I don't want to see a broken down team around him and him progressing a little bit more and then calling for his head. As I have said in other threads, 2011 Mark would have been much better on the 2009~2010 Jets.

Disagree. I think Rex was trying to give the Coords more responsibility and took his hands off he controls a bit this year.

Rex is still one of the best defensive minds in the league. You have to give him a couple years to grow into the HC job. No one goes from worker to manager without bumps in the road overnight. I don't want the Jets going through yet another coaching change. Please, lets have some stability and just deal with your emotions over Rex's outspokenness. I cringe myself some times, but there isn't a coach in the league I would want replacing him.

He does deserve one more year, and if there is no more improvement, there's some high quality QBs in next years draft. (Bray,Barkley,Jones)

I think many of you are misinterpreting the point of the "cheer for Sanchez" statement. I think he's trying to say that Sanchez played great in many of those playoff games, not just that people cheered. In 2009, we won despite Sanchez, but he stepped up in the playoffs. In 2010, we won many games BECAUSE OF Sanchez, and we also saw him step up in the playoffs. In 2011, our team was a mess on offense in almost every aspect and he played behind the worst line we've had in a while. We won DESPITE Shotty and piss poor pass protection this year, IMO. Sanchez was very limited by the oline and got beaten badly. We were lucky he wasn't injured and put on IR.

Getting rid of Schotty is going to help Mark. Watch.

QB-David Woodley led his team to a Super Bowl appearance and a division title. Is Woodley remembered as a great or even good QB because he accomplished these feats? What exactly makes Sanchez a more desirable bridesmaid at this point?

The Sanchez public relations team on this site must really think that Jet fans are stupid and gullible. Using playoff appearances to try to sell us on a QB who has displayed no leadership skills and a low football IQ may work wonders with the Kool Aid gang, but doesn't really fly with those who look at the game objectively.

that's generally how i feel and describe things to people who question sanchez. although there are some inaccurate statements and arguments you bring up.

J-co left on his own accord.
Brad Smith got overpaid, and wasn't as important as you make him out to be.
The defense did lose both AFCC games but they also helped get them there.

That might have been true if the Jests had hired an experienced OC, but Tony Sparano really has almost no offensive play-calling experience. OTJ training isn't always conducive to good performance in the near term, and since Sanchez failed to step up his play this past year, he'd better make a quantum leap this next season -- and I'm NOT talking about stats. I'm talking about Sanchez needing to start playing like a veteran NFL QB not a rookie. I'm talking about demonstrating leadership on the field, on the sidelines, and in the lockerroom.
