Since I'm curious as to what others have to say about this goof, heres an Alabama thread on Schotty:

He has spoken to Saban several times on the phone and may have talked in person in NOLA. Since this is out in the open, I will let you guys know that he and his wife are headed to T Town tomorrow to meet with Coach Saban. I have close family connections to the Schottenheimer's and can tell you with 100% certainty that if he is offered this job and takes it, we will be getting a man of character who LOVES coaching football. Obviously, I am biased because of our friendship--I would LOVE to have them in the Bama organization! He was one of Greg McElroy's BIGGEST fans in NY. What Greg said about the Jets locker room made its way all the way up the chain. That organization is toxic. He had little success with Sanchez because as many Jets players have said today, Sanchez was lazy and had an entitlement attitude. The majority of the players put the blame on this seasons woes on Sanchez. They want HIM gone. Go back to when Schotty was with the San Diego Chargers and go back to the QB he developed. Drew Brees. Brees is one of Brian's biggest supporters and one of the best QB's in the NFL. Brian is a phenomenal coach and he would thrive under Coach Saban. You can't be successful as a coach unless the players under your wing WANT to be developed.
