I see. I guess this is Sanchez's last chance. I fear for his future, Sparano is not a QB developer. Sanchez will probably need Andy Reid or Charlie Wise.
how about these numbers AFC Conference Championship game -- 10 wins, 8 losses AFC Conference Championship game -- 13 wins 6 losses 8 wins 8 losses three seasons -- two postseason berths, no losing seasons 31 wins 22 losses
Can't wait for when Sanchez sucks next year the fanboys will be saying "oh well he hasn't learned the new system yet", "oh well Henne sucked under Sporano to". All in all no matter how much he sucks then the same people wanting him back next year will want him back the following year as well for the last of his contract, while Peyton Manning and Matt Flynn will get starting jobs elsewhere and lead their teams on "their" shoulders to victory.
If Sanchez can throw for around 3500 yards 20ish TD's 15 turnovers with a 60% completion percentage I'll take that. We have a lot of other holes to fill on the team and we can't afford another QB when are you gonna understand that.
We save 8 mil by releasing Sanchez, Matt Flynn shouldn't cost much more. What makes you think Sanchez would put up those #'s? Sanchez can barely get over 55% complete in a dink and dunk offense.
Well under Haley/Sparano I would expect he should be able to put up those numbers and if he can't then we must definitely look in another direction after next season for QB. As far as SAVING 8m by cutting him, he has a pretty big contract with a lot of guaranteed cash so I'm not sure what the cap hit would be for cutting him but its up there.
He plays great against lousy NFC teams and piles up good stats. Who cares how he does in road playoff games ? Get your priorities straight.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Sanchez 92 and 97 ratings in the playoff games for 2009 and 2010. Clearly, a guy who raises his QB rating 20-25 points in the playoffs is someone who's 'scared' of big moments.
Jesus Christ guys can everybody settle down?!! Lets see what next season brings and if nothing changes then believe me heads will roll, starting with the fat guy with the head set.
So your saying they are miracle workers and can improve his accuracy? Also they are the best phsyciatrists in the world and can make him stop playing like a pussy?
Knee Jerk Reaction? So, all the talk about his laziness is knee jerk reaction, right? Oh, wait, they actually play the game, or directly involved. I should be listening to the posters on here instead.
I believe his progression is comparing him to the current league, if you account for the other young QB's that are already ahead/appear to be progressing quicker (Dalton, Newton, Stafford, Ryan?) and other young talent that may do the same (Luck, RG3, Barkley?) he may never crack the top 10 even after some of the current QB's retire (Brady, Brees, Ben, Manning) in this assumed progression theory. Edit: The names are just off the top of my head, I don't actually care to think about all the young QBs right now.
Off the top of your head? If an elephant pooped on your noggin, and little elephant dungberries plopped off, would you refer to them as 'Off the top of your head'? You just named a battalion of quarterbacks that wish they had gotten as far as Sanchez in such little time. Ask them.
.... and several of his teamates, including cast off Derick Mason came to Marks defense about the lazy coments. So yes, taking blind faith in an annonymous source is kinda stupid. The kid has slow progressed. Played very well at times and awful at others. he's being given a fresh start without Shotty around who many pof us were unhappy with before Mark even came to town. I'm willing to see how it plays out instead of acting like a child like some of the posters on here instead.
Enough of that, how did he do in the do or die Miami game this season, or the Denver or the giants etc etc I think you have to accept that although playoff games are more important than regular season games, stats only make sense with a larger sample ( if at all).
Which would be awesome if he were a tennis player. It's a team game where 35-40 players play in every single game. Win/loss records as the end all be all of evaluating a QB is idiotic at best, Vince Young didn't have a losing season as a starter in his first 5 years in the league, doesn't make him a good QB. If you consistently win as a QB despite being well below average in every QB category, there is a reason..... the rest of your team (usually your defense in particular) is good.
