Tony has never been an OC but appears to believe in a strong power running game and a down field passing game. He has a good repuation league wide and is a Parcells guy. I don't believe the "Sparano is a lousy OL coach"talk. Even since 2009 when Jets ground and pound was at its peak, I felt Miami had arguably just as good of an O-line and was even better at straight ahead drive blocking. He will get this OL playing physical again and will instill discipline into an offense in dire need of new perspective.
Sparano is 4-2 vs Rex head to head though.... I am not a huge fan of Sparano but the dude's OC was Dan Henning who is F'N ass, especially once The Wildcat got figured out.
Damion Woody just tweeted that we need someone to come in and help develop Mark. Cro answered back with this: @damienwoody Like Martz Im surprised a player would actually suggest someone but Martz as an QB coach or offensive assistant would be awesome IMO. He hasnt done bad with QBs.
Martz is full of ego, its his way or the high way on offense. He doesn't believe in TE's and refuses to really rely on an unproven running game(Martz was even going away from MATT FORTE at times!)
I agree but he has made some average QBs into very solid ones, Warner and Bulger especially. I think he has had up and down coaching. But as a consultant I dont think its so bad. I cant really think of anyone else effective to help out Sanchez besides the Packers QB coach but hes not going anywhere right now.
So...our top priority in the draft just went from dominant OLB that reacks havoc in the back field and racks up 12-16 sacks in a down year to...wait for it...place kicker! ding ding ding!!!
