I dont want to get into comparing the QB;'s but i also found the analysis of the pick to be hilarious. It was a great play by Watt dont get me wrong, but sanchez did throw an almost identical pick to starks. The pick to watt was called an outstanding individal play that was not daltons fault. Sanchez throws the first pick to starks and they talk how poor his decision making is that he should have pulled it down or should have taken a sack. Sorry but i think thats some kind of double standard or something.

Cincy had the 7th D overall for Yds against. I'd say that's good

I'm breaking from my own point, which was Dalton shouldn't be shit on, because he had a hell of a rookie year. Just because he lost his first playoff game and played poorly doesn't mean Sanchez>Dalton.

If we are breaking from rookie years though, Sanchez had Braylon, Holmes and Cotchery to go with the 4th best rushing attack last year. That's a lot to work with. Again, that was year 2. Dalton TBD at that point.

And the Jets D in '09 was #1. That's VERY GOOD. Thus, my point.

Plus, Sanchez had a considerably better running game.

Frankly, I don't know what the point of this thread is.

I mean the comparisons were always involving Stafford, Sanchez, and Jeri-Curl Man(Freeman). Where the hell did Dalton come from?

    Look, I like Mark.

I just don't get the whole, "Sanchez won 2 playoff games his rookie year, while Dalton lost his first. Therefore, Sanchez>Dalton."

Good point. Never actually saw a single person here say they wanted Dalton over Sanchez. I may have missed it, but it certainly didn't seem to be a popular opinion.

    Two things-

    1. No Jets fans wanted Dalton over Sanchez before this season

    2. Only one of today's INTs was on Dalton. The Watt interception occurred due to poor pass protection by the right tackle and a great play by Watt. The second interception was as good as a punt. The Bengals had originally planned to punt anyway but changed their mind during a Houston time out. It was a desperation pass thrown deep down the field while Dalton was under intense pressure.

i saw alot of things in dalton that i see in sanchez. the difference is this kid is a rookie on a middling team. sanchez is in year 3 and has had some pretty good teams.

i would have no problem with dalton on the jets at this point. not that it matters because its not going to happen.

One was the 5th pick in the draft, the other was not. Stop comparing apples to oranges.

And if you are going to go there, why not compare TJ Yates to Sanchez?

Sanchez is a bust because he was the 5th pick and plays like an undrafted qb who should not be in the NFL. Dalton having a bad game after getting a mediocre team to the playoffs does not change that.

Not a Sanchez homer by any stretch but you should change your perception on the term 'bust.' Doing ZILCH for three years (Gholston) is a bust. Winning 4 playoff games and having the 5th most TD this past year is not something I'd put in the 'bust' category.

dalton comparisons came from the site's owner

    http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=2383223&postcount=195

There may have been a few other cases of the comparison being brought up, I'm not sure. That was just the only one that I saw and read.

Who cares? The Bengals were a nothing team, Sanchez took over a team that was 8-3 before a monumental collapse the year before with some of the key components back. This is like the idiot Giant fans who want to compare Eli with Sanchez. The real test for Dalton will be the next few years. I think he's only gonna get better while Sanchez seems to have stalled.

Yup, people pretend that Sanchez going 9-7 with this team is an accomplishment. If Favre doesn't get hurt, the 2008 team wins 11+ games, has playoff success, and Sanchez is now in Cleveland, or some other city. Favre probably plays another year or two hear with the team drafting a qb, and we now have a starting qb who learned under Favre.

Dalton has nothing to do with Sanchez. You can compare Stafford and Freeman and other 1st round picks to him, but lets go easy with 2nd rounder comparisons...

    1. Dalton was n the playoffs, sanchez is not.
    2. Dalton's team not as good as sanchez'....yet he was still in playoffs, sanchez....not
    3. Dalton threw 3 picks today to a playoff team.
    4. Sanchez threw 3 picks last week into the hands of D-linemen on a 6-10 team ( and didnt give a shit about it)!!!

    This.

Dalton is in the playoffs because Sanchez is a turnover machine that lost to the Raiders, Broncos, Dolphins, Giants and Eagles.
