This team needs some new coaching blood and the time to start the process is today.

NFL Network were reporting that Rivers is pulling for Turner and has a strong voice in the organisation.

I'm trying to be positive about BS and his tenure here, we all can deduce that Rex is a hands off HC when it comes to the offense, so If that's the case maybe there is a possibility that BS can get the job with the Jags.

When he interviews he will have the 2 AFC championships appearances as part of his resume, who other than he can bring that to the table. I think he may have a chance at the Jags Gig.

But Shotty was never responsible for "the team" ...... Rex is, and "the team" is in shambles. The offense is just one component of the shambles.

No. The offense is the main problem with this team. With the exception of red zone efficiency, it needs improvement in every area.

That's not to say that the defense and special teams were perfect, but our offense was rotten and definitely lost multiple games on their own.

    Shahid Khan: Hello Mr. Schottenheimer.

    Schotty: Hello.

Shahid Khan: What do you do for a living?

Schotty: I'm the offensive coordinator of the New York Jets.

Shahid Khan: Oh, that's interesting. Excuse me for a moment.

(pulls his cellphone out and dials)

Shahid Khan: Hello Mr. Weaver. Ok, I have interviewed the white guy, now who else do I have to talk to before I can hire my cousin Mo?

Actually that article says that the Jags have their top 3 choices in mind, but not every name has been made public, so it doesn't necessarily include Schotty, who it just mentions as one of the interviewees.

Love it when outsiders cast their "considered" opinions

I am coming to the stark realization that Schitty will be the OC in '12 and beyond until a new coach comes in a cleans house...which appears to be in a few years when Rex's contract is up

I can't imagine Rex is back if they miss the playoffs again next year.

A new coach cannot clean house, they have no say...do you really believe for a second that Ryan wants Schitty, or Sanchez, or wanted to keep Gholsten...I don't but as we have been told over and over, Tannenshit has complete control over all personnel decisions.

This opinion is nothing but pure speculation. If it were true, Rex has no balls whatsoever.

Nothing like throwing away the best coach this team has had in 40 years. Great fans we have....

You are certainly living up to your award lately.

Continuing the coaching carousel that the NY Jets have had since Walton was here is not going to bring in a SB winning coach. I still hear people talk about Gruden and Cowher as if they are the 2nd coming of BB.

Gruden won an SB cause Dungy prepped a team for him and Cowher took 13 years to win. Rex is here 3 years with 2 PO appearances and he's getting run out on a rail?

Sideshow Rex? What kind of shit is this? Tannen-shit? Whaaaaat??? Why cause he missed on a few draft picks? Considering how many picks we have had over the last 4 years, He's done an excellent job.

The Pats had 33 draft pick last year - how many picks have they hit on?

Cannot see where they are off on their opinion. This team is in a shambles, offensively and defensively. And it does come to Rex ultimately. Hopefully, it just turns out to be a minor hiccup until we turn it around and get back on track.

Of course it's speculation but I do believe Ryan wanted his own OC and was smart enough to know whether Gholsten had any talent at all..he does, after all, seem to know defense. Sanchez is the only part that has nothing to back it up.

There's a chance, albeit a small one, that Mike Tannenbaum gets fired at this point. Everything that has gone wrong threads back to him and if the Jets don't get the off-season firmly under control pretty quickly he's going to be vulnerable to Woody throwing his hands up and asking how the business is being run.

I think the odds that he gets fired are low but every time something like the McElroy comments pop up the odds grow a little bit. This is not the kind of off-season vibe that sells PSL's.

I said this in another thread, I doubt Tanny gets out-and-out fired at any point. They'll just play musical chairs in the FO again, demote Tanny back to cap specialist and promote Scott Cohen from Asst GM to full GM. The organization's balls are too small to clean house after the mistakes made in 2000-2001.
