If you saw LT encouraging Sanchez after that touchdown pass at the end of the 4th quarter, you already knew it, but it just shows the level of class and respect for the game he has. Im not sure if this is true, but I heard Holmes exchange was with Wayne Hunter. By god, Wayne Hunter is a pretty bad football player right now, but I have never seen a lack concern or effort on his part, poor execution yes, but not a shitty attitude. Please get rid of Holmes this team does not need him that badly. There is something to be said for team chemistry. More than not it is character that wins championships. It is no surprise now that Pittsburgh had no problem letting him go.

This is concerning. Seems to go beyond the usual "Give me the damn ball!" chirping you hear from mouthy wide receivers when things aren't going well.

His complaint was valid, how he handled it was anything but. Why is he even here getting paid 10 million a year when Sanchez never throws the ball downfield? We don't need WRs, a bunch of used up third down backs fits Sanchez abilities perfectly. I am as much a Schitty hater as anybody but when I see Sanchez killing 90 percent of the plays at the line you have to wonder what was really called and what was it changed to.

I salute holmes for what he did...cant blame anyone for getting angry and quitting on shotty. he is the worst in league history at his job, and it has to be furstrating for an offensive captain to be handcuffed to his playcalling

I have no issue with players showing their displeasure. Holmes however is a team captain who is getting 10 million per and was one of the single worst players on the field when the Jets still controlled their own destiny.

I can give him a pass for being frustrated, I can't give him a pass for sucking in big moments of big games.

For Wayne fucking Hunter to call you out, and tell you if you're not here to fucking play to sit the fuck down it's a disgrace. Hunter may not be a good football players, but he never quit on this team like Tone. Hunter just isn't good.

Exactly....I detest Hunter and Mulligan but as long as they are all-in and giving 100%, I won't criticize them as cancers.

Holmes is one of the biggest disgraces in the HISTORY of NY sports, let alone the Jets. To pull the crap he did after getting that contract is unreal.

My god, we all got taken in by that selfish prick.

He should have not shown up in Florida to begin with and then we could have cut the SOB without any implications.

    Your post is ridiculous.

Holmes needs to go. He is a disgrace to the Jets. He gets called for a moronic celebratory penalty against the Eagles causing the team a 15 yard penalty. He dropped how many passes throughout the season, he pouts and becomes a negative force.

People have been criticizing Sanchez all year, he has not been perfect but, look at the shitstorm worth of antics that has been prevalent on this team all season.

I agree with you. Holmes is a grown man he should know how to deal with problems better than that.

Holmes getting scapegoated in this situation. Gotta love it. I don't condone his actions but to act like HE is the only reason this team sucked dick this year is pretty short-sighted.

Honestly I have no problem with him going back and forth with Mark Sanchez, I think that he should be held more accountable for his performances, instead of being coddled by Rex and Schottenheimer. Every good team always asks for more out of each other regardless of the position. I don't think Holmes should have EVER went to the media with any of his gripes about the offense, but let's be honest he has a fucking right to be pissed off. I get sick of hearing the old company line "OH BOY YOU WAIT UNTIL WE GET THIS OFFENSE GOING IT'LL BE SOMETHING ELSE" for the past 3 years, it wouldn't fucking hurt someone to actually put the burden on their shoulders to take accountability for this shit instead of calling each other geniuses and how we're so loaded with talent.

It's a joke, it makes the organization look like a joke. Schottenheimer should have been taking some of the weight off of Rex's shoulders but instead he had a press conference about how he's an "excellent coordinator" and how he can't "pinpoint the problems". Sometimes you have to own up to your failings and do your best to fix them, not just sweep them under the rug.

With that said, I'm still not happy with how Holmes acted but with all the money we threw at him and how many bridges we burned with our other receivers, it'd look awfully stupid to cut him now and expect big names to want to play for us on the offensive side of the ball, especially if we do retain Schottenheimer.

He quit on the team. That is unforgivable in my book. Especially when this organization put so much faith into Holmes. This is how he repays them.

    Fuck him.

A cancer in the locker room can completely shatter a team. I honestly feel like the lack of chemistry and the division in that locker room is because of Holmes. He is a big part of the problem.

Looking back on the year, you can tell that Holmes gave two shits about winning. He took so many plays off, he didn't try. He has been giving up on this team all season long.

So, no they would not look stupid for trading/cutting him now. He is way over paid, and is proving that he is nothing more then a #2 in this league. You do not pay a #2 that type of money.

There is absolutely no excuse for Holmes. I don't care how anyone spins it.

Mark Sanchez completion % when throwing to Holmes = 50%
Mark Sanchez completion % when throwing to everybody else = 58%
