Hes consistently bottom 5 in accuracy and bottom half in QB rating (18 i believe). These kind of numbers can be replaced. 90% of the people on this board overrate Sanchez like hes some great QB just because he won 4 playoff games and thats their only argument too, which is sad. The defense is the main reason those games were won in the first place. Sanchez is only overrated by other Jet fans. Just listen to comments by other players in the league and other fans. You will never hear how good of a QB he is. Its year 3 now and very little improvements. Sadly, this team has so many other holes as well so it looks like mediocre Sanchez will be here for another year or so...
I'm fine with bringing in more competition for Sanchez. But this is a dumb topic to bring up in the middle of the season. We have all offseason to think about it, and Sanchez still has half the season and possibly the playoffs to look better.
This is actually very true. The discussion I intended to start was based on a "what if?" scenario where Sanchez doesn't end up living up to his expectations. However, I don't think it's dumb to talk about it now because there's no harm, as people who have no direct involvement with the Jets, in speculating about possible scenarios that may occur in the future.
You're calling someone retarded while misspelling retarded? lolwut? And to the OP: We need to see Sanchez in a competent offensive scheme before we even worry about Sanchez. He's doing okay and shows flashes of brilliance, I think he has it in him.
Listen...if anyone is going to propose getting Matt Flynn to come to the Jets it would be me I think bringing Matt Flynn in via trade is a horribly dumb idea, we already have McElroy who essentially has the same resume as Matt Flynn, played at an SEC powerhouse where people questioned his ability as a passer and won a national championship in large part to the play of the teams outstanding defense. (Insert generic comment about how Schotty sucks, and Sanchez haters are annoying and crazy)
I'm fucking glad I missed whatever shit storm occurred on Sunday night and Monday. People are so fucking stupid
Why start a thread about a hypothetical "what if" question when you then admit yourself that there's no way it's actually going to happen anyway? I'm surprised this thread isn't filled with unicorns already.
Also, to make it clear, me wanting to bring in competition is not trading a high draft pick for Matt Flynn. If he's a free agent, I'm more than willing to bring him in, but he'd probably cost too much from another team that needed a starter and liked him. Trading a 1st or 2nd for him is a horrible idea. Sign a veteran that can actually play a little bit, unlike Brunell. If you think McElroy can't cut it, spend a mid-late draft pick on a QB.
No, but we are avoiding the real question. What do we have to do to get Tyler Thigpen on this team? Make it happen Tanny.
