Multiple players unwilling to talk to the media today, Bart scott ripping a photographer and a reported teary Rex Ryan begging the guys to stay a team, WOW. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...h-ryan-reportedly-cried-while-addressing-team "In a locker room scene that appeared to boarder on the surreal, Jets players gathered their things and took out the frustration from a disappointing season on the local media. The Star-Ledger reported that multiple players refused to talk to reporters -- including the normally chatty Darrelle Revis -- while Bart Scott yelled at a photographer. According to ESPN New York, Scott also gave the photographer an obscene gesture and said, "Get that out of my (expletive) face." Newsday reported Sunday that it's likely the Jets will cut ties with Scott this offseason. Scott made just 66 tackles, his lowest total since he with the Baltimore Ravens in 2004. "All I know is I got a guaranteed contract for $4 million," Scott said when asked about his future with the team. Holmes, who Jets coach Rex Ryan named a team captain before the start of the season, also did not speak to reporters Monday. The Star-Ledger reported that Holmes was escorted out of the locker room by public relations staff. All of this transpired following Ryan's tearful end-of-year speech to his team, during which he reportedly pleaded with his players to be a team. "He was crying because he loves us," Jets guard Matt Slauson said, via ESPN New York."
This is what happens when you decide talent is the only thing that matters and then you don't acquire enough of it.
No, this is what happens when the organization allows and encourages coaches and players to be themselves and basically say publicly any shit that comes to their mind. The entire organization from Rex Ryan all the way down simply needs to learn to STFU.
I don't see how a coach crying is that big of a deal. The guy obviously cares about his team, and Im sure its something that happens. Who is the asshole who is leaking this information anyway? Is there actually somebody on the team letting the media know about this?
I don't think theres anything wrong with it either its just that its sad that it has to come to Rex crying and begging his team to be just that, a team.
yeah it has nothing to do with being a team. we just don't have the talent. except santonio, he's a fucking prick.
It's not a big deal, even Lombardi cried in the locker room and probably dozes of coaches since. http://books.google.com/books?id=rs...epage&q=lombardi cried in locker room&f=false
i for one love the passion that rex has, sure he says some things that he shouldnt but he is one of the best coaches this team has ever had, he loves being here and loves the jets. i have faith in rex to fix this team and get us to the next level.
http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...es-mark-sanchez-clashed-last-week-sources-say At least we know Mark, regardless of how you see him and his ability, has a no-quit, let's work through this attitude. Santonio Holmes is a million dollar ass. These people play a child's game and act like they are God's gift to us all. He can't bust his ass for 1 hour a week. Most of us bust our ass all week long just to get a chance to have a few hours during the week to relax and enjoy a sport and the team we rally behind. What a joke. This guy is lucky that our culture is willing to shell out millions to people like himself, because with his attitude and mind frame, he would be job to job otherwise.
sounds like pure gayness to me....Rex its enough sweetie and please eat a snack after your done crying
See this is exactly what I was afraid of...people focusing their hatred on Holmes and letting Sanchez off the hook. And we wonder why this franchise is a failure. People too worried about subjective crap like class and pride and not on what actually wins games - TALENT!
Um, not for nothing, but "pleading with them to be a team"? Isn't the head coach supposed to make sure they are a team? Isn't that part of his job?
Of course, it's too early to say but this could be the beginning of the end for Rex. Playing poorly is one thing but a locker room turmoil usually means it's time for some global changes starting at the very top.
