OLB/DE No pass rush w/o blitzing causes migraines (and even our blitzing sucks). only way to beat brady is to not let him be comfortable in pocket.
You described thier ability as "way overblown". To me thats dicrediting them. I agree that MrE's act had grown old and he is now perma banned because of it. Smart guy with either a real rage problem or a old worn out act as a internet troll. No matter which it was I don't miss it. WW85, GH, and others around the draft forum are able to talk about players without the complete asshole act and they are very informative.
Tannenbaum will likely try to fill needs via FA so that the team has flexibility come draft day. If Rex has his way they'll keep all the picks and go best player available. Who do I think will be on their radar? Vontaze Burfict It won't take long for Rex to see the film on this guy for him to fall in love. Big strong, fast and vicious. Needs to play more disciplined, but he provides instant life to an LB corps that desperately needs it.
Offensive line absolutely should be #1 priority, and this game proved it. Penalties like I've never seen, bad blocking, bad protection. Our defense wasn't anything special, but this off season I want all the focus on offense. The only thing we need on defense is a safety. Everything else is fine and will develop. We desperately need a linesmen, a receiver and a safety. Maybe a TE. I think the draft pick should be for the receiver, and we should get a veteran lineman. We'll have cumberland back next year as well, so ditch mulligan.
That should work out great with a team with little discipline and no accountability. "He threw it 59 times? I had no idea." "I don't know why Holmes was out of the game. I'll have to ask."
Just watched some video of him. Definitely plays with some fire, no fear in him, and he can close and hit hard. Does seem like he would be a good fit for Rexs defense.
Why we desperately need a wr and its a very good draft for wrs. So if they make a good decision you're done?
They are informative because they can write about a lot of the players. If you ask them to tell you about a particular safety from one of the directional Michigan schools, they will write something about that player (whether they ever actually saw the guy play or not). Problem is they sometimes are wildly mistaken with their projections. My point was that we should not hang on every word written by those guys.
If Rex makes the call - I'm all for it. I have a feeling that this team's decisions are pushed on Rex, and to not piss anyone off, he goes with it. Tanny - "Hey Rex, there is this shiny new WR and I want him for the team." Rex - "What about a safety or someone for pass rush?" Tanny - "I promise I'll find something to fill those needs. I promise, I promise, I promise." Rex - "Well ok sure."
If a guy like Richardson or Coples falls, then they are obvious choices. If a guy like Reiff, Martin or DeCastro is still on the board at that point, then they are no brainers. If these guys are gone, I think the Jets will either draft Courtney Upshaw or Whitney Mercilus. If you were going to put a gun to my head who the Jets will draft, then I say Upshaw, but a number of guys will be considered at #16.
Per Cimini, the Jets supposedly won't bring back Burress. That means we need to bring in another WR, and that we will probably draft one. Michael Floyd sounds about right. And for the last time: absolutely no to Burfict.
First pick needs to be one of OLB/RT/S/WR/RB/ILB. Courtney Upshaw, Trent Richardson, Mark Barron, Riley Reiff, Nick Perry, and Michael Floyd would be my top choices.
RT has to be signed off FA -- they need someone with experience and a body of work . Draft defensive speed on the line or middle secondary
