14 months ago Joe Namath was right about Rex and this team.

If Rex promises a superbowl next year he should be fired on the spot. Tired of these stupid promises he never backsup. Just shutup and get your team ready to play.

team seems on a downward slope

havent liked rex since first year, but he got hot at the right time.

tanny has been garbage since mangini left, mangini didnt do great with browns, so i dont no if they just got lucky or what, but tanny and mangini had some great drafts

got rid of all the character guys and now we have a captain quitting

they need a lot of oline help and an edge rusher.

pretty shitty and i dont see it getting better. probably take two more shitty years to get rex out of here. i wish him success, but i just dont see it happening

Rex Ryan, like his father, is a solid defensive mind (well, his father was more than just "solid") who probably isn't cut out to be a top-flight head coach. Like Mike Singletary, he strikes me as a guy who confuses outspokenness with leadership and vision.

Rex is a great coordinator but a (to this point) an average head coach.

Namath needs to shut the fuck up. I realize he's a legend but all he does is bring negative press to the team.

When he should be bringing positive energy all he does is act like a SOJF.

Rex is quickly becoming the drunk uncle at dinner that keeps talking but you simply ignore him

Why should he bring "positivity?" The team doesn't (and shouldn't) perform based on sunbeams from the media (which is what Namath essentially is now).

Namath, if he's going to say anything at all, should strive for truth and rational analysis. Not blind "positivity." I'd actually like that even out of team personnel, like Ryan, but I realize that that's unrealistic (for any team).

This. He had his time, but now its time to STFU and just root for the Jets. It just brings unneeded attention when a teams all time great calls out the current team.

  14. Everybody thinks the tongue lashing Rex is gonna get this offseason from the media and opposing fans is going to shut him up. I don't think so.If anything, it's just gonna piss him off...and we've seen the intensity and confidence he has in those situations.

Let the haters hate. This team still has talent and I truly believe the front office will have a great offseason fixing the spots where the team needs help. You combine that with a fired up Rex. I wouldn't bet against that.

It definitely won't shut him up. The personality of Rex won't change because of one losing season. It will be the same stuff from Rex next year as well.

Fuck Joe Namath and his non-drunken Jets opinions. A lot of non-Namaths were just as right.
