And the defense, and the offensive line, and the wide receivers, and the tightends. Depends whos turn it is.
And too many anti-Sanchez Jets fans have no sense of history. They don't seem to realize that Schottenheimer was the OC for the Jets for 2 years BEFORE Sanchez and the offense sucked then too. How do you account for that?
So you're saying our WRs, TEs, Defense, and O-line are all perfect and don't need any improvement? Dude, you need to start paying attention to the whole team and not just one guy.
The OC is not helping, but Sanchez is also a problem. Was the latter's poor play today due to schottenheimer? Is Sanchez really blameless?
But you (along with most of the people in this thread) are misunderstanding the point of the thread. He's 3 years into a 5 year deal. People keep saying wait until year 4 or year 5 and see if he's figuring it out. What then??? I'm not saying to dump Sanchez, but if he's "the answer", then they're going to have to pay a good sum. If he ends up a bust, well then that was a waste of a pick. If he works out in year 4 or 5, do you really want to pay him to stay around? Whether he works out or not, there's STILL going to be tons of questions around him because he's not locked up long term. You guys keep talking about one more year, but is this a Super Bowl team even if he does better next year anyway? Those of you who are enamored with him have to start realizing that he only has TWO YEARS LEFT, and signing him long term again puts us right back into a bind. And people can talk about Eli's Super Bowl all they want, but that was an improbable victory on an improbable run. It's the exception, not the rule. Now they're fighting to make the playoffs for the first time in 3 years.
Year 4 is do or die for Sanchez. If he can't improve under whoever is the new offensive coordinator, then he is a goner.
