No worries, this thread is designed for picking nits. I am just offering a counter. Trust me, I have my lion's share of concerns about how the team is handled.

I really dont understand why people go on about Rex being a trash talker. he rarely (other than as a joke) trashes anyone or anything )even when they clearly warrant it).

Rex is an easy sound byte. It is no different in politics and tabloid journalism. As long as the words are spoken, the context is irrelevant.

At least to the opportunistic putz reporting it. Sensationalism in journalism is the dollar menu at McDonald's. And the consumer public is always looking to over eat.

Great way to put it. I reference in another thread about how much Rex actually praises the other team. This always gets lost when the "reporting" gets done of the interview/conversation. Rex could say "I believe we should be Super Bowl favorites" and all of a sudden it turns into the headline "Rex guarantees Super Bowl". The latter is going to get more headlines, so it doesn't matter if it misleads viewers/readers into thinking differently about Rex and the Jets.

we changed to many things this year.we were 11-5 last year but we lost way to many people it reminds me of the Chargers every year.Woody,Ellis,Edwards,Cotchery,Smith,Taylor,Richardson,Jenkins,Lowery.

These guys were our team last year they left voids we couldn't fill, if we still had them we would be 12-4 or 11-5. Teams play even better when there together for awile, we keep breaking up the group I miss all of those guys there all quality players they really are ... I cant even win with this Jets team in Madden im not even joking

Jets fans act like before Rex we were some kind of Superbowl team, we sucked even more before he came to town,Eric Magini sure as hell didnt get us to two AFC championship games in his first two years. The only thing i blame Rex for is not getting involved in the offense enough

People hate Rex because this is a sportscenter society. How many people actually watch Rex Ryan speak during his press conferences?

I mean of the average fans. Rex is actually very respectful of other teams, only speaks positively of his own team and answers every question that is asked of him honestly. But sportcenter takes one quote of context and considers it trash talk.

    What are Rex's faults?

Pretty simple,......his coaching ability is severely overshadowed by his mouth.

-"I'm not here to kiss Belichicks's rings.

-"I would have won multiple rings with the talent the Chargers have".

-"Oviously, the Jets are a better team than the Giants."

This is an Asinine comment. Does he have clock managment issues; yes. Besides that; I would say that his talent is at least on par with his entertainment value (you call it mouth as you are not a jets fan, based on your sig). Hey, if I wasnt a Jets fan I would also think the same; its the media blowing Rex up because he is not PC and answers questions honestly (a rareity in society today). But from a talent standpoint; the jests are overachieveing based on lack of defensieve talent....in fact I woul call the Steelers underachievers with all the talent on the defensieve side of the ball...

Two weaknesses-one his, one maybe his and maybe Tanny's.

1.) After losses he can be weasely when he says it's all his fault but then doesn't really mean it. This last game is a great example-he says it's all his fault but then he goes and bitches about the playcalling and how they can't win passing the ball 60-something times. You can't have it both ways-if you're going to say it's your fault, don't intimate a minute later that it's Shotty's fault. You're the head coach-if you want to run the ball a lot then you tell the little Shitt to run it 60% of the time and stay on his ass if he isn't doing that.

2.) The Jets are too willing to think that they can turn around athletic freaks who aren't hardnosed, smart, instinctive football players. Well guess what, it's hard to do that: Cromartie still doesn't tackle, McKnight still fumbles, Holmes still showboats, Ducasse still doesn't know what to do on a football field and Plax still takes plays off.
