On defense the strongest unit, despite horrendous safety play, has been the secondary. Revis was terrific and Cromartie played very well the 2nd half of the year. The defensive line was 2nd strongest and has great potential. I really like the entire unit. The linebackers, other than Harris, had very poor years. Harris is terrific but no other LB met expectations. Time for some new faces. On offense the strongest unit, despite Hunter is the OL. This group underperformed but still played better than any unit on offense. RB's are next strongest. Green had a nice 2nd half. LT will be gone and McKnight still is a question mark although I would like to see him being used to receive out of the backfield. Next year is a big year for Powell. Sanchez is next. A downgrade in personnel, especially at receiver, made him the offensive scapegoat. No group underachieved more than the receivers. No seperation, no speed, poor attitude. This group is the biggest reason for the Jet's lack of offensive success. Two superbowl heroes who always seem to get a pass. Not from me. Special teams would have easily been the best unit, but turnovers and penaties did them in.

Thing is. Our defense could be better if we had better safeties and a pass rusher. Revis has played off his man instead of bump and run as a result of a lack of pass rush and a good ball hawking safety.

i dont think that is the reason revis has been playing zone...i think they are trying to mix up coverages to generate more TOs from Revis and confuse QBs. It has worked - esp early this year - but at times it has failed.

Although Cro still has problems tackling, it seems he has gotten smarter with using his body in coverage. It seems he boxes people out more with his length but does it with his head turned so it isn't PI. The announcers last game showed replays and focused how Cro wouldn't let receivers get to the inside of him on passes by shielding/boxing them out. Not sure if this is new from him, but it looks a lot better than playing 10 yards off or playing in their face but not jamming them
