What do you guys think about a change to the West coast type of offense?

I predict that you will be saying how glad you are to be wrong about Sanchez when this gets bumped. He has managed to get better while the offensive talent gets worse as a whole.

If the Jets don't make the playoffs, he's gone. A team doesn't bring in an offensive consultant if they think the OC is doing a bang up job. Schotty's definitely on the hot seat.

What's hilarious is that they waited this long. This guy should never have survived the Mangina era, nor had been renewed each of the last 2 seasons. Bad organizations make bad decisions.

Its beyond pathetic, I forgot who it was but a poster here made one of the best points regarding the offense. Its time to figure out what the problem is on offense is it schotty or Sanchez. You need to figure out what is holding the offense back and cut that factor.

Also the whole Schotty/Cav thing has not developed sanchez at all. I wont claim to be a football expert but Sanchez hasnt improved enough in three years in the leauge.

at some point you have to look at the offense and be honest -- it is a consistent single digit offense (9 yard pass or less to the outside). Schotty doesn't have a great feel for calling a game, making adjustment, or using weapons. Sanchez has ability...give him an OC that can create match ups, opportunities, and a game plan that allows him to succeed. This is a pass first league and the jets need to wake up to that fact.

Shotty will not be fired next season, unless it's the Fins that fire him.

Shotty will be fired tonight/tomorrow morning.

If you think you, the fan who will live to cheer another day is pissed off, please think of how pissed off Mr Tanny is RIGHT NOW. His life, house, cars, livelihood, wife, kids, college all go as the Jets go.

Tanny has to 'save face' with Mr Johnson, and Shotty will be the fall guy. Much deserved.

The ONLY reason Tanny won't fire him TONIGHT is so the Fins are forced to buy out the last year of his contract.

I doubt he'll be fired tonight, but football is a business that pretty much demands a scapegoat for failure. Schotty isn't the only problem, but his performance and reputation make him the natural choice to take the fall if the Jets fail to make the playoffs.

why would the phins buy out his contract, letting woody johnson off the hook for 1 years salary? that makes zero sense.

the phins don't want shotty, they're after bigger named guys, gruden, parcels, cohwer or someone along those lines. no team is seriously going to look to shotty after this poorly played offensive season!

you can't be serious? at best he's shown to be nothing better than a game manager. sure some improved stats, but has he shown anything to make one think he has elite or top ten qb potential?

if you think he has, i have a bridge to sell you!

    He better be.

The Jets have some odd obsession with him, but he ruined our season. 64 dropbacks in a close game that you have to have with this QB and O-line is simply retarded.

You don't think he has in the last 3 years?

You would have wanted Eli Manning gone after 3 years while he was still improving too. Your lack of patience has blinded you.

Didn't Schottenheimer failed with Pennington already? Schottenheimer doesn't even know how to install WCO to begin with.

And Sanchez is not a WCO QB either. He was never a QB with touch and accuracy for short passing attacks.

I have said for years that Schottenheimer is sabotaging this team. How can one person be so inconsistent, predictable and oblivious to game day? My one year old daughter could call a better game then Schottenheimer.

It doesn't help when you have Wayne Hunter out there acting like a turnstile at a whore house. The O-Line is pathetic this year, we lost a lot of leadership, Richardson, Pryce, Ellis...you can't replace the leadership those guys brought to this team.

I'm sick and tired of watching this team every week, watching Rex open his fat mouth and stick his foot in it afterwards. He talks so much shit it's more and more like white noise to me.

Don't get me wrong, I like Rex as a coach, but his motivation tatics are no longer working.
Schottenheimer is definitely holding this team back...

And no matter what Rex says, it's still the "SAME OLE JETS".

I hope he goes to Miami to absolutely ruin their up and coming offense.
