The terms of his contract prevent him from holding out. If he holds out the Jets get an option that extends contract a few additional years at a very modest salary. But you can guarantee he will be asking for a new contract and he has leverage. He wanted $16.1 million a year and he got it for the last two years (2010-11) with a lot less due in 2012 and 2013. He can easily say pay me this offseason or I will just play out my contract in 2013 as you cannot restrict me in anyway including the franchise tag. Imagine how much he would get in free agency with Snyder bidding on him. Tanny entered into a terrible contract with Revis last year giving up the ability to use the franchise tag. Revis holds all the cards. We will likely have to pay him quite a bit this offseason.

I lost respect for him last year when he held out to renegotiate his contract with multiple years left on it.
