Yeah, he'll learn his lesson now.

Wait, no, he is an insufferable punk and will learn nothing instead.

fined by the team or the league?

Hope it's the team, and it should have been more than $7,500 since that celebration was at the highest level of dumb.

I also wish he gets minimal fine for each time he does the stupid 1st down ball drop.

I think early in his career he must have gotten a fine for celebrating a catch, because that ball drop is his punk way of following the rule.

I don't have the rulebook handy, but I believe it states that after a play is whistled dead, the player must either give the ball to an official or place it at the spot it was downed.

So, technically he is following the word of the rule, just doing it like a bitch. That is why he is never flagged for it, even though most times he does it right in a ref's face.

Not that I am a fan of NFL referees lately.

He really is a punk. They should have fined him 14,000. A grand for every point he was responsible for the Eagles scoring. Really, what kind of player celebrates like that after a TD and when the team is still down 18 points?

The guy was an ashole, no doubt, but A fine by the league it's fucking pathetic. Give me a break Roger Goodell, you're really getting out of control with all these fines.
I think it should be up to the team to fine a player who puts his team in a bad position by a terrible penalty and a classless act.
To be honest, I think Rex should have stopped him of his Captin status.

Do not think Goodell handled that fine. And so what if Holmes was fined? The money goes to charity.

that one game has to have left the organization wondering why it signed the tool to that big contract. not the image (hey look at me, im a tool) any organization would expect coming from a team captain.

Yea OK, the fact that Rex allows him to continue to act the way he does irks me. I love Rex and his winning ways, but some things just don't sit well with me. I would have loved it if he grabbed Santurdio by the front of his shoulder pads and went off on him after that ridiculously stupid penalty he took. I'm all for the guy being a players coach, but if once and a while you do something like that it would make a huge difference IMO.

Was it using the ball as a prop that drew the ire of the NFL? Little confused on this

Man he must have known he would get a flag.
Sometimes giving responsibility gets guys to step up but the captain seems to be missing the point . At least on this play.

Is being a douche a fine-able offense? I guess it was using the ball then...

The first down act is old, but you better hope to see it a lot more cause he's here for another few seasons at least. If we were within a score and you saw that first down thing, you might cringe at first but I bet it would pump you up too. At least, that's how it is for me.

The touchdown Eagle flap was completely ludicrous. I was watching by myself and I was still asking the room wtf he was thinking, with the score the way it was.
