That was actually the '82 game(GB came back to play at Shea in '82) not the '81 playoff clincher. Thanks for the links.
Thanks for the article Murrell. Appreciate the work you put into it. Damn, I remember all those games. Some tough ones indeed.
Ah, a trip down memory lane to get us fired up for our most important regular season game. I swear that a good portion of our fan base identifies with losing so much that they can't bear the thought of winning.
Side story to that, Green Bay coach Bart Starr called Blinka a "hoodlum" after that game. If I'm not mistaken Blinka showed up to camp the next summer with the license plate HOODLM.
That's the definition of a collapse. The Giants are also familiar with it. No team is specially cursed.
junc, I know I have given you some crap over the years for being a Jets positivity robot, and maybe it is because I have always suspected that you work for the team and most likely in a PR role, but at the same time I still dig the hell out of your tenacious attitude. And also your friendly stats. Your stats can make a willfully ignorant homer believe that we have a great chance of recovering. Thanks for that. And also thank you for the Giants collapse record, because I am as ignorant as the next guy about stuff like that. Hopefully you are paid well for your tenacity.
ahhhh Stan Blinka-------------------I remember some of those games vividly-----Chrebet leaping in the air brings back memories----I am looking at the wall that my fist went thru after that play----man I did a nice job of fixing that, you cannot even tell it was once there
I wish I could find a picture of that Blinka hit. It was very violent. He clotheslined Jefferson and put him on his ass.
I just had a 115 pound tumor removed recently, and have a renewed ability to enjoy life. Pay no mind. I am going to print this post and put it on my wall. 12-23-2011. junc is not sure how to respond.
