It's not a 20 Quarter game. Down 28-0, all running is doing is keeping the clock moving. 28-0, he has no choice.
Nope. Not in this circumstance. You need to continue to exploit your advantage. Eagles couldn't stop the run, so Shotty stopped it for them.
Not like Greene had no carries the rest of the way. He slowed down, also. Plus I don't now how much he can run these days. Still looks all banged up after every run. Gets up all slow.
Yeah, that concerns me a bit. Although, Jim Brown used to get up slow after every run. If you watched him, you honestly thought every run was his last. He'd lay on the ground, get up gingerly, limp back to the huddle...then break off a 30 yarder on his next carry. Obviously, Greene is no Brown, but he should be able to play with sore ribs. I'm starting to think he doesn't have what it takes to succeed in the NFL.
Yeah it would be much better if he got up and sprinted back to the huddle. That's what's most important.. good point!! Him racking up yards isn't important.
absolutely, the best way to come back from 28-0 down late in the 2nd qtr is to establish the run. I agree we should run on that first drive after 28-0 to try to get something psoitive going(which we did) but to run more than pass the rest of the game? that is asinine.
What are you smoking? You don't run more than you pass when you are down 4 touchdowns. We needed touchdowns and fast so he opened things up.
How did your plan work out? It resulted in 17 more Eagles points on the board, and complete failure by the Jets offense. I would have put up 30 on the Eagles simply by running the ball on 9 out of 10 plays. Would have at least kept us in the game. But, instead, Shotty abandons what's working and goes "by the book". The Book was written by losers.
Oh so you're just a crazy person. Give me a break were ran the ball well early but its not like we were getting huge gains every run later on. So now I guess its Schottys fault for passing that the Jets defense gave up more points too.
I'm really psyched about the game. I don't pretend to know if the Jets will beat the Giants, since a lot of the problems the Eagles presented are still present in a fierce pass rush, good ground game and good team speed on offense. However it will be nice to have a relatively stationary target at QB instead of Michael Vick, and I think the Jets have a real chance. This is a playoff game three weeks before the tourney begins. Winner needs to win two to get in and loser sits out.
This discussion would have been a whole lot better had both teams played well last week. They both dicked us over.
True, but the fact that we both lost still keeps it a somewhat even discussion. We both want redemption and we both virtually have to win this game to make the playoffs, still pretty interesting.
