Giants win at 1 PM Sunday (home vs. Wash) and Cowboys win Saturday night (@ TB) and Iggles will be cooked by 4:15 Kick-off.

Would definitely take wind out of their sails.

That would be great. I don't see the Eagles putting their hearts into a pride game. If there is something on the line though, the will put up a fight.

I think the Eagles know there is practically no chance for them to make the playoffs. I don't know how much of a difference it will make if at all. If Andy Reid is a good coach he will have them ready to play regardless because he is feeling the heat right now.

Obviously we should hope for this to be irrelevant, but its good to know anyway.

I've been following the Eagles message boards and columnists (check them all out at PHILLY.COM) since the summer.

Major columnists have thrown in the towel on Andy Reid, unlike last year when they were willing to give him another shot even before they made the playoffs with that late-season surge.

Fans definitely upset with Reid, but also ticket at Banner/Roseman (how do all these 30-something computer geeks get NFL GM and MLB GM jobs today ? Decades ago, you had to have been in the game for 20 years to even get a call).

Hasn't had them ready to play from Game 1. I think the Eagles will believe they can make the playoffs if by some quirk the Cowboys lose Saturday night (to a horrible TB team) and the Giants lose at home to a bad Washington team.

They'll think karma is on their side.

Alot of guys on that team besides DeSean Jackson are going 80-90% and not risking injury. They have seen how the Eagles don't pay their own and they are probably saying "Hey, I'm supposed to go all-out and then they say "SORRY" -- why should I ?"

They've quit in other games. Just get a lead and they'll quit again

There is still 2 weeks left though on top of the fact that Giants/Cowboys play. The bolded part is the main reason why I think we win this game. Our D can play physical and really throw them off their game. Revis roughing up Maclin or especially Jackson could cause him to dog it early. If they disrupt their receivers than all you have to worry about is Vick scrambling and McCoy which is a lot but hopefully not too much to handle. On offense their D is soft and we should see a heavy dose of Greene again.

They haven't played inspired all year until last week but I don't expect a repeat performance by their D.

Teams with losing records near the end of the season always like to play spoiler for teams like the Jets who are still fighting for a playoff spot, so I don't think the Eagles being eliminated from the playoffs will affect their effort on the field. They'll be trying just as hard as the Jets to win the game.

In most cases I agree but the Eagles have played like a team without pride. Its not talent that is the issue it lack of effort. Of course they are soft on O and D line but they have the pieces to win they just didn't get it done. In crunch time they crumble and if they are playing from behind they just seem to give up. I hope the Jets receive first and get off to another hot start.

I would agree with that if the team has had a full week to accept that mindset. it's a completely different dynamic for the reality of elimination to set in 10 minutes before you take the field, and your last glimmer of hope has just been extinguished. That would definitely give us a mental edge.

I also read this, interesting to consider, but the Jets need to impose their will on to other teams. Thats how we win, physical on both sides of the ball.

Vick didn't even practice today in order to rest his sore ribs. This guy is not going to be a running threat because he can't take a hit .He will be a pocket passer and in that role he is an average QB.

Get to em fast and first...the fact they got columnists writing to boo their own team..says a lot and maybe they'll quit

Vick will most likely be a pocket passer on sunday. no way he wants to risk getting killed. I think we'll be fine

Agreed, but not as much as they would if it was an NFC East team.

The one that will be alot tougher than it looks is the Miami game -- that's their Super Bowl. Though with Sparano out, it's now easier.

Maybin doing the killing, or will we have Pace and Pouha sightings?

If we can score first, and often, we will win.
