That's an interesting point of view, and I'm not sure how you arrived at it, but I respect your right to offer baseless and uninformed opinions.

I'll reiterate what has been already mentioned; thanks for all of the time and effort that Petro and the Mods put into this board. Personally, I'm glad that there has been action taken to mitigate some of the fervor and personal attacks.

Certainly, for quite a while, I've expected harsh reaction to anything posted as the amount of animosity and intolerance for nonconforming viewpoints seems to have been escalating. My primary concern has not been the rules, but the unequal application of them. It almost is immaterial what the rules have been, as it is easy enough to accept them and decide to contribute within that context, or reject them and not post. However, while infrequent, at times I have felt that there has been favoritism and unequal application of the rules occurring, witnessing bans by behavior that has seem in-kind. Personally, quite some time ago, I had been attacked and responded in a manner than I felt was in-kind, resulting in being banned, which I felt was unjust. Keeping things in perspective though, this is a message board whose predominantly participation I assume comes from a much younger fan base, so I didn’t lose any sleep over it.

Anyhow, I hope that the board takes a more tolerant tone, with a diminished frequency and severity of personal attacks. Of course, there have been instances, where I have posted criticisms and counter-attacks, so obviously, I've contribute to the recent hostile tenor. In light of that, I certainly hope I haven't offended anyone with my liberal use of slurs and if so, apologize.

As far as the whole mess of rogue members trying to establish a new board and raiding this site for new members…all I can say is thanks to all who put their time and energy into dealing with that shit.

When anyone uses the term fundemental fact I automatically think of a guy with a gun pointed at someone or a bomb strapped on their body. Permaban is simply self defense.

I think you've made your point here. No reason to turn this thread into yet another flaming contest.

    I probably shouldn't.. but

I gotta say - I do enjoy the irony of people who left/were banned, partially because they weren't completely free to bash TGG, helping to start a forum, that doesn't allow them to discuss TGG at all.

So you should change your name then. Now you can be called "The Present" and when you get to be my age you can be called "The Past"

Meh, that's really no huge loss right there. Iggy was pretty clever, but also pretty much responsible for both VickBlows and jeto leaving, so whatever.

maybe I'm wrong about jeto, she got ganged up on pretty good. I'm sure she even deserved it.

Again, no big loss to me. For every death there's a birth, great to see Bradway and Biggs back at it.

One should never prevent oneself from enjoying unintentional irony.

You could just see it as proof of how people have grown from this whole affair...
