Ha..... Hey I left out Gastineau roughing Kosar, Klecko blowing out his knee vs. New England cause he had to go back into a blowout game, Blair Thomas fumbling in Chicago and Andre Tippett sacking Kenny O'Brien for the 50th time in playoffs, that's something.

I'd rather be criticized and pretend i'm some newcomer to the sport. Just makes things more interesting.

I tell ya, the real killer was the 1998-99 team. That was the one team, since the SB winner, that was as good as anyone.

I don't want to blast, cuz u seem like you are genuinely concerned. But trust me, its not rocket science for Tanny, and even if it is, he'll find a way to fix it. Here's just a hint of what he 'can' do with just one contract:

Restructure Sanchez. His $8.5 mil base salary can be converted to lets say $1.5mil bse, plus a $7mil bonus. That bonus then spreads over to 2012 and 2013. So it will further increase the cap space available by $3.5mil. Sanchez's hit alone goes down from $17.75 mil in 2011, to $10.75 in 2012. His 2013 cap charge is $8, which would then increase to $11.5mil, hardly much increase from his 2012 cap charge.

You showed a net increase of roughly $24 mil from 4 players. Sanchez has a drop off of about $7 mil. I believe Jets had about $10 mil in cap space this year that gets pushed forward to next year (this is why Jets didn't sign anyone cuz they knew they needed this space for next year).

The $10mil of cap spaces doubles up if I'm correct. Here's how. Assume 2011 and 2012 cap is $100 mil (just assume). If Jets have a cap space of $10 in 2011, they would be at $90 mil. Their 2012 cap would be $100mil, plus the left over from 2011, making it $110 mil. So the Jets would then get an extra $20 mil to spend, from $90mil to $110 mil, plus the $7 mil sanchez saves. $27 mil equals out the $24 mil u showed plus other minor increase.

Disclaimer: I have not read anywhere else that 2011 cap space gets pushed over to 2012 except for several posters posting it on TGG. But since the NFL cap doesn't increase between 2011 and 2012, I would think that might be the case.

We have about 8 mil in space and it does carry over to next year. I e-mailed the nyjetscap.com guy and asked him about that and restructuring deals.

    Also, Scott is overpaid.

Sanchez is overpaid he needs to take a serious paycut. Based off his play he should be making 2 million at most per year. Why the fuck is he getting payed like an elite QB?

Take his money and give it to Scott.

He's overpaid because that's how a rookie contract works for a QB taken in the Top 5 picks... and there's nothing we can do about it.

That's just wrong. The Jets have been great against runs in the middle of the field this year, which historically has not been one of their strong points. They have been weak on the edges which is where they were torched by Oakland and beaten by Tebow. Scott has, as usual, been very effective against the run.

The run d was bad early but has been solid of late. We had some early struggles then we lost Bryan Thomas and it took us awhile to figure out how to replace him on the edge. Now that we play Macintyre and Scott on the outside to set the edge it has made a big difference. If you look at the rankings our rush d was close to last after the new England game and now I think we are 17th and I would expect that to keep climbing. Not our usual top 5 ranking but we are respectable.
