I noticed that for sure on at least one play - not sure how many times he drew a double but the fact that it happened at all is a testament to the effect he was having on the field.

He was double teamed in the 4th quarter on quite a few of the passing plays when he lined up over the right tackle. He then switched to the other side and got some 1 on 1 but Fitzpatrick is hard to sack. He looks at 2 quick reads then just throws it away or tries to scramble.

He's doing better, I think I actually saw him use an inside move at least once today which was great. Wasn't that effective but the point is that he is learning.

The CS appears to have done some good work with him on his balance and strength. He's come quite a long way from getting blown up by Marion Barber and thrown to the ground 2-3 times per snap.

Yup, he definitely took a shot or two at using a spin move to get to the inside. Like you said, didn't work so well, but good to see him working on it.

He has definitely tried adding a spin move to his repertoire and there was one time I saw him fake a speed rush and try to bull rush. Didn't work out, but it's great to see him doing different things. He's come a long way just since week 4 when he rejoined the team. It's great to see.

the sacks, and pressure is awesome, but you notice him embarrassing himself most of the time.

I honestly felt like he was the big highlight of our defense this week.

Smith was embarrassing as always, Cromartie almost cost us the game, even Revis didnt live up to his own standards.

Although gotta give Pouha some credit because he was a beast, but to be fair they had some smuck playing halfback and an incredibly pathetic Oline

Maybin's a good situational passrusher, he can't be used in the base defense because he's a liability in the run game. But what we're getting out of him on 3rd downs is definitely worth his roster spot.

He's also been solid on special teams coverage.

If Maybin could bulk up in the off season he might solve our OLB issue and allow us to not draft an OLB...allowing us to draft a WR or RT instead...

balance seems to be a major issue with him.

you see harrison, hali, etc basically sideways when they are taking on a block, rushing the passer. when maybin gets to that angle, he usually falls on the floor.

i suppose you can attribute that to his weight.

Even IF (thats a big if) Maybin is an answer, OLB is absolutely a need.

Pace is gonna be 32, and has been getting injured a bit lately.

Worst case scenario rookie has to spend one year being sparingly used.

But theres no way the FO is gonna take a guy like Maybin who hasnt shown any significant ability to be an everydown OLB and say oh yeah hes the answer for the future and just pass on drafting an OLB

On TGG that is one of the worst things that could ever possibly happen.

    I would hope not.

Hell it would be an excellent problem to have if we happened to have 2 great pass rushers on the team, should a rookie, and Maybin pan out... So I wouldnt pass on a rusher if available because of Maybin. But if we like a guy at a different position better than the available rusher, thats another thing altogether.

You need more than 1 guy that can rush the passer....Jets need a couple of athletic OLBs that can rush and cover....

The Jets equivalent to Captain Ryan Callahan never quits on a play, 110% effort every play...5 sacks(8 counting the preseason) in about a dozen plays a game...
